My husband and I arrived at their lovely homestay at almost 2am from the airport (a quick $10 USD cab ride away--much better location than staying in Colombo!) and Rahula and his wife couldn't have been more accommodating. I had chosen their home based off of the excellent trip advisor reviews, and they couldn't have been more spot on. Rahula was easily accessible for contact prior to our arrival, and waited up for us as our cab pulled up (he even carried my HUGE bag up the stairs and wouldn't take no for an answer). Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable, and had a lovely balcony and ensuite bathroom. Our hosts prepared us a lovely little breakfast the next morning, and gave us great advice for our quick departure the following morning to Kandy. They called us a tuk tuk driver to drive us to our bus station, and made us promise to call them if we needed anything at all during our travels (Rahula works for the US embassy so I'm sure he may be able to help if need be in a pinch!) We would absolutely stay with them again on a return (or departure from) Colombo! Highly recommended!!!
