Great location in kandy city tour options available so we explore whole kandy friendly owner preprared our all travel arrangements

 we watch kandyan cultural dance pretty much best option in central kandy we are strongly reccomend charlton kandy rest for the best affordable tours option i think they are the best in srilanka

we went to sigiriya from kandy we get a nice ride by the hotel on time

The employers are amazing and always helping in everything. One of them make the dinner for me and my friend and after we go to a restaurant with him. They are really a good persons. Thanks for everything guys, see you in next time

Nice  place with very good employers - always around to help, serve coffe or tea. Is not straight on main road but very close to center so not very busy at night. Bathrooms are shared but cleaned during the day so its allright.

Very good value for money with helpful and friendly service. Very flexible too. The Manager was at service 24 hours with service centered attitude. Very clean and hygienic place . Tea was given on arrival and as bed tea in the morning. Very convenient as it is in the middle of the town. I am very glad that I found this place in in Kandy .

– we appreciated the staff's commitment to making our stay as comfortable as possible. The owner lead the charge with his hands on approach to meeting guests needs. The breakfast whilst simple and uncomplicated was sufficient to sustain nearly anyone fortunate enough to visit this establishment. The place is not flash but well presented and I had no issue with feeling value for money had been achieved if not surpassed. the ability to bring food and drink from outside and share it with other guests was refreshingly encouraged and led to our experience being one of the most memorable on our journey so far.

Staffs were kind and helpful. We booked tour for 2 days, they literally went an extra mile to deliver the best service during our tours for the past 2 days.
Pradeep was a good photographer as well! That is a bonus!

There are not enough good words for the hospitality of the staff from beginning to end. We were picked up at the train station and once at the hotel, we were given the choice of room we wanted to stay in. Water, tea and coffee were complimentary and they even served us without us asking for anything. Breakfasts are big and very satisfying; great way to start off the day! 

Location location location! It’s extremely well located in the heart of Kandy. A lot of the main attractions are walking distance. You can’t get better value for your money in this aspect. It was great! 

Rooms are clean and accommodating. There was hot water for the duration of our stay. The only inconvenient part is that there are no functioning windows in our room (#17) because it gives directly on the lobby. Walls are also thin and you can easily hear what’s going on outside of your room. 

We had a free city tour. Our driver, Sunil, was very friendly and informative. We highly recommend the tour as you can see a lot of things in a day. Thank you Sunil! 

John was a great addition to our stay. He was friendly, open, and genuinely a great person. Always had a good advice to our questions and went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. 

The owner, Mr Saman, always made sure we had everything we needed and that we were satisfied with our stay. Very kind with a huge smile. He was very welcoming! 

All in all, it was a great experience. We highly recommend Charlton Kandy Rest if you’re in Kandy. We would go back anytime!

we book the hotel through booking.com and we got a free pickup from train station and its free first we arrived the hotel they welcome us nicely with Srilankan Traditonal Tea so lovely people the hotel its in the center of the city so its a benifit to goto all the places we wanted .specially need to mention john is the one always make us feel home  he take care of our all needs about exploring  srilanka and his ideas of exploring method in efficent way its really help us to discover all the location in kandy we hope and the tuk tuk driver is so friendly

the owner is very nice never greedy for the money he gave discount for our room all the time free water  free coffe also most of the time suggest us to goto best place for food and drinks and he always guide us while we staying such a nice boss and nice team if u travel to kandy if u want a place like home and center of the city i would like to tell you this charlton hotel simple and best see u again thank you for sharing about budism and theory of the life thank you mr.saman see you soon

Lovly place best Host John is excellent always welcomming always share the tour ideas and his Friendly attitude its make us  feel like our home the owner offer free coffee and Tea also offers half day tour Free .we stayed the Budget Room thats shared bathroom its ok for our price they gave us city map also we went to monkey jungle it was nice the owner Saman is wonderful personality he traveled alot and suggest our Tour wonderful experience simple Best City hotel near to the Tooth temple. i would suggest charlton city rest best place see u srilanka see u kandy again love you all

Located much near to the temple of tooth relics and budgeted hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean. TV, free wifi , hot water available and tea/milk tea too included for the price. You can have a quality room for a reasonable price. And must say a word about the owner Mr.Saman one of few persons i have ever met. Kind person and always try to do his best for the visitors. Recommend to any tyoe of visitors.

Amazing experience in Kandy

Back packers paradise, down to earth hospitality.

Great experience in the heart of Kandy! 

We spend one night there and it was quite a good night. Localization is perfect! Close to markets and local restaurants. Rooms are clean and cosy for low-budget trip. Bathroom is clean, but not comfortable for us. Too small. 
The heart of this place is host - John - great helpful guy. We spent very nice time together. He took us to Ramboda for a good price by car. We ate typical Lanka’s breakfast on the road thanks to him. To the last moment we spend together, he did everything for us to feel amazing holiday time!

It’s typical cheap hostel, but with a rich heart!

One of best in town !!!

I stayed at the Charlton 2015 last time and the owner kept his good spirit. Super helpful so was actually also the other staff. The yard is cosy and a nice hang out. As the rooms are located around the yard it could be a bit noisy during daytimes. I was quiet during my 12 hrs of sleep. The location is in the supercenter of Kandy and opposite a heritage restaurant which also serves beer. Room 3 has a queensize bed with fan and shared bathroom. Everything was clean. If you are looking for a private room in the center and don’t want to pay 40$ or sleep in a capsule / share the room with 5 others this is the place. They also offer half day tours for free to your booking. I didn’t have the time so no info on that one. A joyful stay to everyone! 

BEST VALUE FOR $ IN KANDY’S VERY CENTER

Definitely worth the money, it might not be super clean or really calm, the employees offer stellar service and advices to go around the city, eat cheap or fancy or just for tours/sightseeing. Also free soft drinks, hot drinks and water all day and night. If you want luxury, I recommend you spend more than 13 usd and go somewhere else. They even offer you to go buy beers at the wine store (cheap) and bring them to the hotel restaurant area as they don't sell any. Would definitely recommend if you can slightly get out of your confort zone and don't have crazy expectations like no city noise.
