I stumbled on Christiane's webpage when researching on my travel plans to Sri Lanka. Her webpage is full of information and tips - very comprehensive. Even though I am not a guest, she was so patient and offered my all the information and suggestions to make my trip a success.

I booked two days tuk-tuk tour to Polonnurawa and Sigiriya Lion Rock/ Dambulla Cave Temple. We were supposed to travel with her husband, Asela, but he had other commitments. She connected us with Sarath who a careful driver and he took us on the most wonderful trip. Always on time, careful driver and has a keen eye spotting wildlife! We spotted 4 wild elephants enroute! Even though he has limited English, we still had a memorable trip with Sarath. Highly recommend. Thank you, Christaine & Sarath. We hope to come back again one daY!

Good family, they take care on you and is easy to see cave, perfect location, just in front of it. Pink room is beautiful and wifi is running perfect.
Be careful with mosquitos, rest is very nice and peaceful

The hostel has the perfect view to the Golden Buddha.
I'm now here the second time and I love the atmosphere here. You can live here in a real Sri Lanka family. And the most important reason why I come the second time is the RICE AND CURRY. She cooks delicious. It's really the best curry in Sri Lanka!!!
I love to sit here outside...relax and enjoy this amazing view.

Local family with perfect view

My stay here was good, i liked the family and their pets. They were very helpfull. Pink room was good with a klamboo. It is quite rural and noisy: monkeys on the tin roof, dogs barking, insects in the room. There is poor maintenance in plumbing, no mash for windows, etcetera. The place is sort of cleanish. Good location. 

Old but charming

It's a very friendly house with a lot of animal love. Unfortunately, there's not much positive to report. Apart from the very good food and free water. - lots of dogs and cats in the house who can do anything. Whether they lie on the bed or under the bed. - The bath was more than unclean and definitely gets a flaw from me. - The house has no windows and so mosquitoes are very common here too. Where there is at least a mosquito net over the bed for this.

You get what you pay for.

I arrived in a raining evening and was welcomed by two nice dogs, barking of course.  Don't be afraid,  they are friendly. The place is simple and clean, they provide filter water for drinking,  this should be mandatory for any guesthouse in countries which doesn't recycle the pet.  I had a good sleeping there,  but I had just come from Adams 5000 stairs :). It's perfect for visiting the rock temple.

Enjoy the simplicity.

I slept well, but I also just came from Adams with 5,000 steps:) It's perfect for a visit to the Rock Temple.

We spent just one night in this hostel.  I booked the balcony room.  The staff were really helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean.  It's a hostel, not a hotel, so you do need to keep your expectations in check.  You can't be any closer to the Dambulla caves unless you lived in them. Do say yes when they ask if you want the staff to prepare you dinner.  It was excellent!

Pleasant stay!

The rooms are very small, the furniture and the laundry are quite ancient. The door to my room had huge views from all sides, and the house was full of all kinds of animation. As a result, in the middle of the night I jumped out of surprise - a puppy jumped on the bed. The only advantage is the location. The hotel is very close to the entrance to the Cave Temple of Dambulla.

Don 't expect any special comfort

Christina is a super nice hostess and offers rice and curry dishes in the evening on request, which were really delicious. Even better than in some local restaurants. The hostel is basic, but the price for it is also unbeatable. The beds were very convenient and the mosque network was tight. The hostel is directly across from the main attraction of Dambulla. Good conversations and the warmth of the hostess rounded my stay up well. I highly recommend.
