We went to the Medina thanks to the rather positive reviews we had read. Firstly, do not book via Hotel.com, because when we arrived our reservation had not been taken into account and transmitted by the site. We could still have a room, which had the strict minimum. The air conditioning did not work, no hot water or pressure in the shower throughout the week, the entrance door was cracked... Very simple lunch with bread and jam, but you have to have things planned early enough in the morning: it is not available until 8:30 pm. There is no mineral water at will as described on Hotel.com. Nice Pine The biggest surprise: Saturday, the hotel was transformed into a quiet place, we were not able to sleep in the morning, and the hotel was not as comfortable as usual.

It's not much better.

Very nice little hotel, nice and smiling staff, clean and comfortable room, the rates are very correct, I recommend this establishment for short and long term.

The real Senegal

The Medina is an unpretentious Riyadh-style hotel 200 metres from the main street full of life, unpretentious but so charming with its colours, swimming pool, sober but clean rooms with terraces or balconies.

Very nice hotel, nice swimming pool, super comfortable bed, bathroom ok with separate toilets, singing bar, restaurant is across from the beach, it's just annoying when it rains but it's not the most common weather here... 5/10 minutes walk from downtown.

Three wonderful benefits

I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel La Medina.  It is in a good location - a few blocks back from the beach and tourist strip of Saly, in a quiet local neighbourhood.  The hotel itself is very spacious, with good-sized communal areas and a sizeable swimming pool.  It is also more of a local option, as opposed to the numerous international holiday resorts and hotels which make up much of Saly.  Rooms are arranged around a leafy courtyard, and are beautifully decorated with lovely en-suite bathrooms.  It would be nice to have a greater choice of air-conditioned rooms, but this to me was the only downside of the place.  What really stood out for me was the care and attention of the staff, particularly the brothers Buba and Musa - great guys, who would do anything to serve their guests.  Thank you for a nice and welcome stay!

Extremely Helpful Staff

The hotel is located in the village of Saly and is a peaceful haven, the centre can be reached on foot, the staff is very friendly and attentive, the rooms are spacious, comfortable and well maintained, the patio is pleasant, the pool is a very important place.

We spent three days in this hotel, nice and welcoming, it's not the best comfort and the customer service is not very developed, but I would recommend it.

Hotel with charm and a good price, the rooms are spacious and with a clean and spacious bathroom.One of the nights we stayed was a wedding in the pool area, the truth is that it was very interesting! It is located in a quiet area but, at the same time, close to the tourist area.
