Bear On Arbatskaya Lodging Houses

I am a regular customer of Buddy Bear hostels' and I would like to recommend that hostel chain to all of you who are familiar with the peculiarities of the hostel experience and want to make the best of their stay in Moscow. If sharing one and the same room with people you do not know is an issue with you you'd better skip the hostel adds you find on the internet and check in at a hotel. But if you find the hostel community that comprises people from different nationalities who have different backgrounds and speak different languages exciting, Buddy Bear hostel chain is probably the best choice you can make in Moscow for that price category. I know of three Buddy Bear Hostels in Moscow that are situated not far from each ogther in the very heart of this beautiful city. I have been to two of them- the hostel on Smolenskey blv and the hostel on Arbatsky blv. As far as the latter is concerned I would like to give a few words of advice. The hostel on Arbatsky is remarkable as all other Buddy Bear hostels with their friendly and disciplined staff. Most of the receptionists rotate within the Buddy Bear properties so you can meet them in the hostel on Smolensky and the one on Mayakovsky. They have been always helpful and willing to walk the extra mile for me as a customer. The best customer service I have ever received at hostels and hotels all over the world! However, after visting the hostel on Arbatsky I have second thoughts on this property as I find it overpopulated and hence one cannot get any privacy. I have to mention though that during my short stay all guests there behaved extremely well and I have not had any issues with any of them. I would like also to mention that for some reason the luggage room is on the 2nd floor and accessible only by a very narrow widing ladder which poses a lot of difficulty bringing your luggage there. May be they can relocate that room or make it accessible by lift? To sum it up- I for one prefer the Bear hostel on Smolensky as I find it more cosy and calm- the property is much smaller and can accommodate fewer people. May be for this reason I always end up making friends with the other guests there. So, My advice to all holiday makers who would like to have some privacy and the opportunity to make interesing acquaintances at the same time is to stay at Bear hostel on Smolensky. But as everything else it is a matter of taste I suppose.
