the best thing about palm village is the staff. Our room  was nice and big, nice and clean, and every thing was in working order.  the beach was great!! sunset was unbelivable!!!   we also enjoyed watching the local kids making volcanos and play on the beach in the evenings . Great place for the money.  THANKS AGAIN  to MARICEL  and EMMA.

Nice place!  Maricel is nice and very accomodating (she's the caretaker of the place). The room is big enough that it can accomodate up to 4 people. We rented out a motorcycle at the port (worth 300 pesos per day) and drove all the way to san juan. The market is just 5 mins away from the guesthouse,I highly suggest to buy your food and cook it inside your room. But if your too lazy to cook your iwn food there are 2 restaurant near the guesthouse. 

This place is amazing. It´s only about 45 minutes from the port by tricycle. The place is directly on the beach, and in front of the terrace you have little privat beach before to go to the public beach or in the sea. To go in the sea it is perfect for kids cos you can walk in the sea for a few hundred meters without getting deep. 
The place is perfectly clean. Little kitchen to cook for yourself. And to go shopping you need a walk for about 15 minutes to the village center. You can follow the street or you can take the beach to go there. When you want to go out eating there are some simple restaurants a few minutes away from Palm Village Guesthouse. 
Sitting on the terrace, or on your privat beach, or in the front door you have a perfect sunset in front of you!!!

It wasn't the best start as on arrival they said our room wasn't available could we stay down the road for one night, to be fair they would help us get there for free but that was not great as we are a couple with a baby and have to set up a cot. We went and had lunch and when we came back they had managed to sort us out so all was well after that, although it was a bit stressful. 

We love the location, it's brilliant, the sunset is incredible and it's so relaxing. You don't need to go far to find a cool restaurant or bar so you can't fault that at all. The bungalow itself is well made but whoever finished it didn't do such a great job. You don't expect mega high standards for the price, but we were not really able to shower for 4 days, although not a mega problem as you are swimming anyway. The staff are all friendly though and they sent a guy round to look at it for us and it did work for a couple of hours, but it's just a bit of shame. Also, it is clean enough although you will get some bugs in the room which is to be expected.

I would recommend this place for the location and the friendliness of the staff. Just a Few niggles which would only bother people with kids more than people without I'd say. We loved our stay overall.

Palm Village Guesthouse hosted our overnight stay in Siquijor. They fetched us from Siquijor port and traveled around 30 minutes aboard a tricycle to reach their frontbeach accommodation.

The humble homestay has three cozy rooms, each equipped with comfort room, kitchen and WiFi. If you're down for a cheap and just a decent stay, I recommend Palm Village. You came for the island not for the bed, anyway. Plus, they have a great beachfront. When we arrived, my buddy suddenly wanted to skip the tour and just stay there all day.

Calming beachfront, 30 minutes from Siquijor Port

Very Nice Place!

Amazing Place

Cons

The room needed a deep clean and maintenance check. (Curtain rail, kitchen equipment etc). 

Room not serviced during stay 

Room is overpriced considering the condition of the room 

Be aware that you cannot swim at the beach, as it is very shallow. Also be aware that bikinis are not allowed in San Juan (there is a sign in the room). 

Pros

Beach location is nice, and we enjoyed the balcony area

Quiet at night

Wifi not great but good enough  for basic use 

Can rent motorbikes through the guesthouse - be clear on the price.

Room for improvement 

Whilst the location was nice (right in front of the beach with good sunset game) and the room was spacious, I didn't enjoy the filthy kitchenette and poor attitude from the staff.

Fridge was filthy, with previous guests' unfinished drinks still inside, cutlery was dirty and broken, gas cooker only had one functioning ring and leaked gas. Kitchen sink was gross. Curtain was on an old broom stick resting on two nails in the wall.

Staff are no help with advice on getting back to the ports, they stop understanding English the moment you turn down their overpriced private tricycle. 

Don't appreciate the random local families turning up to use the guests' beach space most evenings.

Wifi was ok, balcony very nice to have. Bikes were 300 for the day (though they tried their luck with 350 at the last minute.)

Air-con and fan both worked well.

Overall, grossly overpriced, given the lack of upkeep.
