During our stay in Windhoek, we chose Hotel Pension Steiner for its central location and reasonable rates, and it proved to be a convenient and comfortable choice for exploring Namibia’s capital. It’s a simple yet charming option for travelers looking for a cozy stay with a personal touch.

Location:
The location of Hotel Pension Steiner is fantastic for anyone wanting to explore Windhoek. It’s situated in the city center, just a short walk from Independence Avenue, which is home to many shops, restaurants, and key landmarks like Christuskirche and the National Museum. For those relying on public transport or taxis, everything is within easy reach, and the area feels safe and accessible for walking.

Accommodation:
The rooms at Pension Steiner are basic but comfortable. My room had everything I needed for a short stay, including air conditioning, a TV, and free Wi-Fi. Everything was clean and functional. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom, had hot water and was well-maintained. If you’re not looking for luxury but rather a clean, quiet place to rest after a day of sightseeing, this place fits the bill.

Service:
The service at Hotel Pension Steiner was excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always available to assist with questions or requests. They provided me with recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. Their warmth made the stay more enjoyable, and you can tell they take pride in their guesthouse.

Amenities:
Hotel Pension Steiner offers a nice selection of amenities for a small guesthouse. The outdoor swimming pool and garden are perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, and the garden area provides a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city. Good for Value

Pension Steiner is well located in the city, although it is best to take taxis to get around at night.  The hotel room was a good size, clean and comfortable.  The breakfast buffet included a cooked option.  The gate across the entrance stays closed and guarded, so even if the area isn't all that safe, especially at night, security is good in the hotel.

An excellent budget hotel

This hotel I situated in the city center and a perfect last or first stop in Windhoek when you travel in or out of Namibia, pnly 30-40 minutes drive from the international Airport. They have free Wi-Fi and secure parking. It is also possible to get a late check out if you have a late flight. The service at the reception is very helpful. Special thanks to Naftal, helpful with reservations and booking är restaurants and shuttle. 

An affordable oasis in the city 

Receptionist really welcoming and helpful.
He gave us some map for our road trip.
The room was clean and quiet.
The hotel is well located near the main activities of Windhoek, we were able to do everything by walking. The parking is really secure.

Great place to stay

Not a good start to find our room selection configuration was unavailable however magically a suitable room became available. We could not get the tv to work both times we stayed there. Room 4 had a noisy fridge but room 3's was quiet. They put on a good breakfast. These rooms are in need of refurbishment so I would rate them a 2 star at best.

If you need a bed for the night its ok

Fairly clean, old rooms built around a main house, staff really friendly, breakfast okay, not the place to stay if you like up market accommodation, little over priced if compare it too South African hotels, good location for central Windhoek, don’t stay here if you are traveling with kids 

Friendly staff 

Standard accommodation close to the centre of town. The room was clean and the beds comfortable.  There wasn’t much atmosphere and it felt very strange as we were the only guests.  Reception staff were helpful and arranged a taxi for us to go out for dinner.  There was nothing wrong with the place but it felt very soulless.

Clean, basic accommodation in good location

This a pretty central hotel in Windhoek.  It is not cheap for what you get.  The rooms are rather basic. Some of the mattresses are very hard - typical Chinese mattresses.  The breakfasts are good.  The reception staff are efficient and helpful.  There are security staff on duty 24/7 and a strong security gate that is closed at night - necessary to keep out undesireables.

Central hotel

Stayed here for one night before going to airport. Clean and fairly basic accommodation, lots of security which we felt necessary as downtown Windhoek not the most inviting of positions. Other hotels for a little more offer a much nicer experience.
