Absolute heaven!! From the moment we set foot on our boat transfer from Maputo Harbour we knew we were in for a treat! Be prepared to get a little wind swept and gloriously 'misted' by the waves, all weather dependent of course. Stepping off the boat into ankle deep, warm ocean added to the charm of our warm welcome to the lodge. Every detail has been carefully, and caringly thought about - the novels on the tables to be borrowed, the games ready to play if you choose, fabulous gentle music and beyond all of the the most incredible smiles from every member of the Machangulo Lodge 'family' team. Nothing was too much. The food was incredible, lunches superb ('I've NEVER had such delicious fishcakes' from a 16yr old young lady!) - what a gem of a chef!! A very efficient 'never before' was an (admin only) WhatsApp group that you are invited to join on arrival, allowing immediate response to anything you may need, from anywhere in the lodge - GREAT initiative!! What a treat... the snorkelling, heavenly and delicious beach picnics, beautiful beach walks, pansy shell collecting, sunset cruises... I can't imagine too much more needed to fill the soul. An ENORMOUS thank you to every member of the family... we were INCREDIBLY sad to have to leave a day early but we will surely be back!!!
