We take part in a 3-day tour of the desert from Marrakech and at the end of the first day of the journey our friendly driver Ismail announces a stopover at a hotel with a swimming pool near Tinghir to rest before heading to the desert. After over 10 hours of minibus traveling around Morocco we arrive at our nightmare hotel. We welcome strange statues of legs that blow up in the old, dusty parking lot. We enter: a structure similar to the first glance, in the ground and mud with a dirty hall and tent. Hotel staff at our hotel give us the tremendous key tubes of the hall.

A Terrible Incubator Before the Desert

We stayed here for one night as a part of a tour to the Merzouga Desert. The hotel seems to be a remnant of the past and has surely seen better times but it is well maintaines by it's small crew. It was clean and comfy in its air conditioned rooms and the dinner and breakfast were both a buffet and both excellent.

A hotel that was once surely grand.

Extra points for that wonderful swimming pool that we longed for going to the desert in the middle of summer! the super pleasant attention, quiet atmosphere, spacious and cool rooms, clean bathrooms. dinner and breakfast are also very good. finally, super recommended!

Excellent stay at the hotel.

Not very clean room, chosen by global Moroccan adventure during our stay in Merzouga. Little flies and hair in our blanket mattress uncomfortable, poor shower. I put a 3 because the price is very good for our excursion and food is also excellent.

Sommes arrived at night at this hotel with a superb welcome. The people are very smiling. The rooms are pleasant and well proportioned. The bathroom is small but functional. The water was rather warm for the upstairs rooms. The restaurant is a unique menu that is offered when you arrive (Moroccan soup, chicken tajine or beef vegetables very abundant and a fresh dessert.

Pleasantly surprised

Choose by the organizer of our desert raid, this hotel was a nice surprise. Without pretending, the room, sober, very clean is of good size. Only the shower room would require a little more equipment because nothing to lay its things down and a small sink. Very good meal made up of an excellent soup, a tajine and a fruit salad. Very good breakfast. Large parking next to beautiful gardens, and a beautiful swimming pool that we didn't have time to test, lack of weather. Good welcome.

Pleasant.

It's like an oasis in the desert. The hotel was our stop before we left for the Sahara Desert. It's a good hotel, the room was big, with air conditioning (essential). Clean and comfortable, its style is rustic, but it's a modern hotel and it has a large area with restaurant and swimming pool (this is a swimming pool) Very good. The typical food is also full and good. The staff are kind. Look at the photos, the sunset in the swimming pool was beautiful!

An Oasis in the Desert - It's got a big pool

As a hotel stop during the Roc du Maroc Mountainbike challenge, any hotel with a good shower was welcome but this hotel was a nice surprise nevertheless. Reportedly, this hotel survives on large groups of tourists and events like ours, but that didn't away that the rooms were spacious and clean. I particularly liked the walls made of earth and straw, which felt very natural and 'back to the roots'. Bathrooms were smaller and a bit dated, but still clear and a warm shower felt so good after a day spent on the bike. There was a large pool, although we didn't use it (nights are chilly in October and causes the water to drop in temperature also). I really enjoyed my 1 night stay here overall.

Nice surprise

Great stay, the hotel is well located for travelers who need nature, and lands.. 
Very quiet and cosy rooms, pleasant and clean too.
Stuff though was not that responsive (receptionist)
Loved the breakfast that included a variety of Moroccan food.
KELAAT MGOUNA - TINGHIR is a great area to visit 
I loved the experience and I would definitely come here again.

KSAR KAISSAR Hotel Kelaat M'gouna

I was expecting the worst after reading the reviews, but this hotel was OK.  The rooms were large and very clean but with a strange treasure chest in one corner (some people in my group felt it looked like a coffin).  Passage ways were dark until I realised there were timer sensor lights.  The restaurant was great, food was tasty and they had local wine which was drinkable.
