After reading numerous reviews i was a bit sceptical but this hotel was great. Based in the beautiful centre of Vianden, its location is spot on.  The reception was good and i could leave my bag as i arrived early. Great clean room, i could not fault it.

Great place to stay

Booked a double luxury room and paid EUR206. We were given a small room (number 23) on 2nd floor. An ugly and noisy mobile a/c was cooling down the room which otherwise would have been very hot. There was no key and somebody’s toiletries were still there. The room is worth EUR80. It’s a big rip off, owner doubles the price or more on busy weekends. The Portuguese manager running the restaurant was very correct, apologised and refunded our money and even offered us free dinner. We ended up sharing a room with our friend at Hotel Belle Vue, at EUR150 it was twice as good.

Slow, totally disorganized and inefficient service! We waited for a table 15 while several tables were empty but not disposed of. The waitresses passed in front but left for the kitchen empty-handed instead of emptying the tables in the passage for the next one. Finally sitting we wait for another 20 for someone to come to take the order, we see all the tables around who raise their hand calling etc without much result. We already said that we should have gone our way... Finally ordered, 10 later we are told that one of the dishes is finished we must order something else, which we did and wrote 15 later we are told that this one is no longer possible!!

It's a deplorable service.

We booked the hotel before the pandemische started for 2 couples. Because of the pandemic the hotel was closed. We tried to change the dates to a later time. They denied this and did not answer telephone calls or mails to talk about the subject. This is not acceptable even if there is a pandamic going on. You should answer phone calls and mail. And not lie to the Booking office

WHAT A SCAM

The lady on the phone told us that she didn't know how to handle us on a Saturday night, so there was no hot water the next morning either. And to top it all off, young people were making noise in the hallway until 2am. And the TV in the room wasn't working.

It's a disastrous stay, no hot water and no one to fix it.

My wife and I booked the hotel due to the Luxembourg Government providing 50 Euro Vouchers to stay at Luxembourg hotels to help with drawing tourism into the hospitality sector due to Covid.   As residents we have been to Vianden many times and have even stayed in Vianden before but we want to use our government voucher and decided that we could not think of a more quaint place than Vianden.   Unfortunately after we booked the hotel and informed the hotel we would be using our voucher from the government, theh Luxembourg government put in some extremely restrictive measures on bars, restaurants and hotels.  We decided to go anyway since the voucher was going to expire in a month.   

The town was shuttered up for the most part,  there was zero interaction with the hotel other than them phoning me to give me an access pin to enter the hotel.     None of this was the fault of the hotel but realistically they should have just closed the hotel as well as the evening was literally an hours drive to stay in a nice room albeit cleaning could have been better.  A used blanket was waded up and thrown in the closet and that was not the best thing to see given the circumstances and threw into question how well the room had been cleaned.  

What made matters worse, we checked out at 10 am  exactly, no breakfast and no contact with anyone to find a parking ticket on the windshield.  Again, not the hotels fault but given the town was empty and there was plenty of parking would have thought I might be given a break.  It would be nice if the hotel would either tell we can park without getting ticketed or explain that after 0900 you will need to pay for parking.  Add this expense to the overall cost of the stay it just made a underwhelming stay that much worse.    

Will try the hotel again given different circumstances, hope next time is better

Scenic Town, Nice Room but COVID affected the stay

Nice hostel ideally located by the river and the bridge, bunk and clean okay, very good buffet for breakfast, would just damage no fridge in the room.

It's perfect.

We had booked a double room which was actually quite okay. Spacious, new and clean. It had the necessary facilities and was visually appealing. No roller coasters but only transparent curtains, so it was not possible to fall asleep. Breakfast was rather poor and bread was refilled just before 10 o'clock despite demand when all the guests ate something else saturated and otherwise not very much to choose from. The location right by the river and in the center is good

It was okay, price/performance is wrong.

We will definitely avoid this establishment in the future. We had to cancel because the travel warning from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs came (very high infection rates in Luxembourg) with a classification as a risky country. The consequence would be, among other things, two weeks of quarantine after our return to Germany. There was a flashy reaction at the hotel afterwards; that everything was exaggerated and we could come to Luxembourg in peace. There would be nothing to worry about!  No insight and full check-in (2 rooms - full price) on the credit card. A voucher for the next badge! We were told on the phone that we would come again, but they didn't want to sign an official voucher.

Hostel located along the bear,very nice room but street side noisy(a lot of passage) Nice little terrace for dinner by the water,classic dining (meat cooked on wood fire)!For a night super quality price ratio (52 euros the double room + 8 for breakfast)at the foot of the castle
