Mojo Guesthouse

The room was good enough and the receptionist sometime is abit strange, as they always play cards and stay very late at night. and there is no place to park my motorbike i feel unsafe and the receptionist did not showing any responsibility, apart from that i can recommend this place.

Was a fair place to stay

Very cheap for a nice hostel. The receptionist was very kind and friendly. His English was good and he was really nice. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were fine. They offer free water and snacks! I enjoyed my stay!

Good for the price

The worst guesthouse I’ve ever stayed at. When backpacking I don’t have high expectations, but neither do I expect the owners to be liars and con artists. I booked the room on bookingcom but on arrival the owner demanded $105, almost double the price we’d agreed. This was after much haggling and my wife crying as to begin with he wanted $200! We agreed the price and checked in on 5th January. However, the deceitful owner contacted bookingcom to say we didn’t show up so he cancelled the booking. This avoids him paying any commission and stops us leaving negative feedback elsewhere This hotel is also known as Luang Sokxaby 2. Please avoid at all costs. Our room was not cleaned once in 2 weeks. It’s filthy. The staff are hostile and rude

We planned to stay at Mojos for 3 nights, but had to leave early due to having been eaten alive by bed bugs. The first room we stayed in was in the basement, with no windows and was dirty, very damp and smelly. The second room was lighter but just as filthy. The bedsheets and pillows were all bloodstained and the towels were disgusting and smelled very bad. We noticed that someone had been into our room whilst we were out and disturbed the room but thankfully nothing was missing, as all securely locked away in our bags. We spoke to the receptionist who didn’t care at all and refused to refund the last night of our stay despite being shown the bites and state of the room and sheets. Now we have to pay for decontaminating all of our possessions that are riddled with bedbugs as well as having suffered the additional expense of finding alternatives accommodation. We only wish we’d seen the other negative reviews before we went, please do yourselves a favour and avoid. 

Very, very bad. Do not go.

The receptionists don’t speak much English but they seemed nice. That was until we realized we had bed bugs in our room. I brought out my sheet with one crawling on it. They took it off, looked at my sheet and said nothing. They didn’t apologized, offer to do our laundry, refund our room. It almost seemed like they knew they had bed bugs before we told them.  Now we have to deal with them ourselves. DONT STAY HERE!

I've read several comments about clients being stolen money even they had closed their rooms ...
Stealing is apparently a thing that their bus driver likes too :

We booked seats in their first morning minivan going to Vang Vieng because of the attractive price ... What a mistake !!!
Of all buses or transport I've taken so far during my trip around Asia, this was the most dangerous one, even worse than buses driving around the famous dangerous roads of Nepal.
The bus driver was just driving like crazy, especially in the biggest curves where there was no visibility, and the fact that several tourists asked him to drive slowlier was fun for him !
With his crazy driving, everything was upside down in the minivan, and I lost a box with my glasses under the seat.
When I realised it 2 hours after, it first took us hours to find their telephone number. Strange isn't it ?!? Apparently, they don't want to be reached or to hear any complains afterwards.
When we finally called the guesthouse, and after the driver, he said that he would check. Second call : he said that he would meet us at our new guesthouse in Vang Vieng the next morning. Last call : he answered that he didn't find anything.
Not surprising, as there was a bit money (dollars, not kip) hidden in the back of that box. Money that you could only be found if you were looking for something in that box.
I even offered money just to get the glasses back, it didn't help. We went to the police, explained the situation, they called them again, but without proof, they couldn't do anything.
Of course loosing my glasses (reading glasses, not just sun glasses for fashion) was really inconvenient for me.
And nobody cared. Too late, the bus ticket was paid ... Mojo guesthouse didn't care at all, they had their money, end of story.

I really recommend to avoid booking anything with them, because you get much more trouble in comparison to the few money you save !!!
