It’s cheap, reasonably clean, and convenient, if a bit threadbare. If you really just need a bed and a bathroom, than it should be enough, but that really is all you’ll get. Oh, and the wifi forces you to login again every 30 min or so. But then, what should you expect, really?

Get what you pay for 

Don't stay here!! Smells awful, cigarette smoke and when we asked to move just smelt stale. Don't think the sheets were clean. Everything was dusty. Disgusting. Left as soon as possible. It was near Nagoya station but only stay here if you are desperate.

Booked this through Agoda at USD 129.62.  Very pricey for the standard.  Small Triple room.  Exit 10 from Fushimi station.  Walk down the nearest small road and you will see the brown hotel on your right, with Rolen Hotel printed.  Very hostel like, limited amenties.  Tiny bathroom, with mini bathtub.  No wardrobe but hangers provided on the wall.  Stains on the bedsheets and covering.  Heavy dust accumulation at the air vent.  Non-see through window (why have them in the first place?) Check in time at 4pm but allowed luggage deposit as we explored the Science Museum nearby.  Zero degrees Celsius at night but the heater was not able to keep warm enough.  One short night stay and I will not return again.  Plus points are, there is a kettle, the staff are friendly.  Free wifi, if you ask.

Very Basic 2-star Hotel

I had trouble finding a hotel that offered triple share and was pleased when I found this one, and so well priced.
Our triple share consisited of a small, need and clean room with 2 single beds and a tight but servicable bathroom, and an adjoining room with a single bed that shared the bathroom. The communal facilities were just down the hall and came in handy.
I had read a review about lingering cigarette smoke so i sent an email requesting a nin smoking room if possible. I recieved a reply the following day confirming this request had been accomodated and we were happy to report no smoke smell in our room or our floor.
The room was serviced daily, something we were not expecting, and the staff were fantastic.
My brother left his camera behind in the lobby on the way to our cousins wedding, and the staff remembered the location of the wedding, as we had asked for directions, and rang ahead to say they had it and got a message passed onto the bride and groom. We had not even noticed the camera missing and were so impressed to have them chase us up.
The free wifi was a huge bonus and helped us stay in touch, and they happily transferred many calls through to our rooms from the family we were visiting.
It snowed whilst we were there, so the following day when the room was serviced extra blankets were added just in case. We only had to turn the heater on once!
All this for only about $50 AUD each per night. Great value.

Fantastic value for money, clean and good location

I booked this hotel with hostelworld because it was reasonably priced. The room was a decent size (stayed in the twin, non-smoking room). The room had internet, tv, great sized bathroom with a really good shower. Location was excellent, and staff were very helpful. It is about a 5 minute walk from Fushimi station or a 15 minute walk from Nagoya station. 
If coming from Fushimi station, take exit number 10, then at the top of the lift or stairs turn left and then left again so that you are heading down a small street. Follow this road for about 3 blocks (past a park and the Tiger cafe) and the hotel will be just before the end of the street on the right hand side. 
If looking for Western food, hard rock cafe is a couple of blocks away (across the road from the Hyatt). 
Location is good for Nagoya. Nagoya itself seemed to be a sleepy town and not as happening or exciting as Osaka or Tokyo. 
I highly recommend going to the Toyota factory while in Nagoya. You must book the plant tour before hand (this can be done over the internet, just search for "Toyota Kaikan"). The tour is free and goes for about two hours. It takes about an hour and a bit to get to Toyota Kaikan Head Office and was a little hard to get to because there is not much english on the stations out of Nagoya. I asked the train guard to tell me when to get off the train.
I would definitley stay at the Nagoya Rolen Hotel again. Great value for money.

Great hotel, great value for money

I stayed in Nagoya Rolen for one night by myself. The location was great - you can easily reach it by walking from the main railway station. I got friendly service and a very nice room (the only minus was that it smelled like smoking and an ashtray on the table explained it well). The room was big for Japanese standards and bathroom/shower was great. The room also had a tv, slippers and a bathrope which always gives a home kind of feeling. A very nice stay in a cheap and simple hotel.
