A gem of a place to stay in, the loveliest of people to deal with, the best of food to eat in the most cosy, buzzing restaurant/bar in a beautiful part of fabulous Westport...even in January! My apartment was of an exceptional standard overlooking Westport Quay at an exceptionally great price .... that included a hearty breakfast....and the use of the indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna in a hotel a stones throw away......what more could you ask for?!!!  Very highly recommend for a business or a holiday stay! 🤗

My first  time in Westport stayed in Vinneys self catering house from the Helm. It was fabulous so clean warm & comfortable had everything we needed like home from home. Beautiful food in restaurant staff very helpful & friendly. Thanks for everything Vinny/Shane

Spotless apartment,  close to westport,  croake patrick,  oldhead beach and lots more attractions. Lovely breakfast included, dinner available.  Owners and staff very friendly. Within walking distance of westport house.Would definitely stay again.

Had a 2 night stay at the Helm with a group of friends. We were in a 3 bed apartment and it had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and the apartment was very clean. We had breakfast in the bar downstairs which was included in the price. We asked for a late checkout as our train was in the afternoon and the staff were so accommodating. The only small negative was the wifi but it wasn't a big issue. I would definitely recommend particularly for groups of friends. It is very budget friendly.

Stayed overnight here at short notice. Lovely apartment. Very friendly staff and great restaurant bar. Very enjoyable and great location. Highly recommended. I shall rreturn during the summer. Can walk along the waterfront and easy parking.

Location was brilliant in the quays in Westport! Breakfast was really good full Irish! View of harbour was fabulous. Couldn’t ask for a better location to get around Westport. Slight walk into the town from the quays but not too long.

Just home from overnight stay in the Helm apartments in Westport. Would highly recommend them and Vinny & his staff were excellent. We booked the restaurant for a family meal 12 of us in total and the food & service was amazing. Prices were so reasonable and included breakfast. Definitely worth a visit

For Food & accommodation you cannot get better than the Helm. Staff are Top Class & most helpful. The perfect place to stay. Well done to all the staff. A Great stay !!!  You will Not be disappointed with your stay at the Helm !!! 

Stayed for a night recently in one of the apartments over the Helm Bar. Spotlessly clean, very functional and staff couldn't be nicer. Had dinner on the evening of arrival and breakfast the following morning in The Helm Bar and we were extremely pleased with the service and quality. We will definitely be back.

Spent the weekend at the Helm with a group of friends for my sisters Hen Party, sharing 3 apartments.  From the initial booking with Vinny the experience was fantastic!  Apartments so spacious and spotlessly clean with all one could ask for on a self catering weekend away.  Excellent location for exploring Westport, we stayed around the harbour most of the weekend but did walk into town on the Saturday which took around 20mins.  Breakfast was served in the restaurant up until 10.30am which was fresh and delicious.  We dined in the restaurant on the Saturday evening the staff was helpful and friendly and food Beautiful!  A special shout out to Caroline in the Restaurant who seemed to be there every hour of our weekend thank you so much for your kind hospitality we will be sure to return.

Excellent Experience of Westport 

We stayed here for just under a week at the end of May. The apartment was very clean and a good size for the two of us and the dog. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a walkable distance into the Centre of town and is a 2 minute walk from The Helm restaurant which did lovely food and had live music on every night we were there. We would highly recommend it and we would definitely stay here again.

From the manager Shane to all the staff,one could not ask for better service.
A bottle of wine ,cheese,butter,bread and milk was left in our room
Breakfast was presented excellently and tasted fresh and good.
Will definately be back.

A must visit

The Helm is a family run pub, B&B and restaurant and is simply a fantastic place to stay and to eat. The apartment we stayed in was spacious, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. We ate dinner at the restaurant and enjoyed the music in the bar each night. Vinny, his sons and the rest of the staff are so welcoming and made us feel like part of the family. My husband classes it as his second home! The Helm will also organise golf and sea fishing trips. Go and enjoy the experience - you won’t regret it. 

Fantastic 

Four of us visited Westport from the 4th - 8th this month and this time we stayed at the Helm near the harbour. The Helm runs beside the apartments in the same building than the pub and restaurant, these cottages just 200 yards up the road. Its called Revenues row and offers the whole terraced house for self catering.
We had 4 bedrooms, wonderful garden space and all facilities one would have at home. Top place, highly recommended. 
The Helm pub and restaurant served us a superb breakfast, we had a few meal day and nights and all over I must admit top job.
The staff is outstanding with their service and friendliness.
And the Guinness I rate to the third best I ever had. ( Best in Carraig bar, 2nd at John Finan's in Charlestown) Forgive me my rating, can vary with the no of pints...
