CX Hostel Ground Zero

A lot of people will skip Kuta because of the tourist crowd. I want to experience what Kuta is like before heading to Ubud. I found CX Hostel is very great to stay for the first night or for people getting ready to leave Bali for their last night. The location is great. I read several reviews before booking this place. I decided to book this place for my first night arrived in Bali. This hostel is only around 30/35 mins walking distance from the airport. Since the traffic is very bad during the time I arrived, I only have one backpack, I just follow google map on my phone to walk to the hostel. It's the same distance walk to Kuta. I walk to the beach in the morning to take a surfing lesson. The wave was great for beginner like me. Walking aboud Kuta gave me a good idea about the area. I night stay is good enough for me. I stayed downstairs in a male dormroom with 8 capsule beds, I paid $15 US/IDR 200,000 for one night. The room and bed was very clean. The capsule has curtain can pull down for privacy. There is a light and small folding table inside your capsule also. There is a tall locker for my backpack. Hanging rack inside the room for towels or your clothes. Door lock works great. Great A/C and wifi. My stay was also very quiet. no problem for me to sleep. Breakfast was very simple, just bread and jam. I do love that they provide water dispenser. I can refill water anytime I want to save money and more environmental from buying bottle water. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I need to wait for my girlfriend the next day late afternoon at the airport. They let me keep my backpack with them for the whole afternoon after I checked out. I even did my laundry there. Good value. I do see the staff clean the bathroom day and night when I was there. I wish they have more room for toilet. Also it would be nice if toilet and bathroom is seperate. Like that the hand wash area is outside of the toilet. Common area is somewhat small, lobby can add chair or couch for people to hangout and mingle instead of talking near the room. It may not be a great place to meet people like other hostel since more people are in and out for one or two nights. I did meet two solo traveler to exchange some tips of Bali before I kick off my trip. Nearby, I found a two stories supermarket / clothing store for local people to shop. Cool to check it out. Convenient store is also across the street. Overall, great experience from CX.
