We stayed there in May 2015. Rooms are not very clean, cockrouches drop by. We had so-called VIP room for reasonable money. Staff is friendly, breakfast is included and is eatable. Small bathroom. Windows in the room are not opening. There is tv in the room with 1 or 2 english channels. For plus thre is free wi-fi.This place is good if you need to stay 1 night and you are on budget.

Good for 1 night if you are on budget

We stayed here for 1 night as we had a flight to catch. We chose this hotel because it was recommended in our guide book and in our budget. After walking for ages we found the hostel we were told that none of the cheap rooms were available and only VIP rooms were left. It was pouring with rain outside and we were tired from our journey so we agreed. On first inspection the room was fine, big, spacious, AC, tea and coffee facilities and cleanish bathroom. Once in the room we went to freshen up and the toilet didn't flush. There were small black worms near the shower drain so we went to speak to the receptionist who said we could move yo another room but the room she gave us had no windows, was a quarter of the  size of the original room and smelt. It didn't look like a VIP room so we went back down and asked for a discounting the smaller room but to no avail so we stayed in the original room, used a bucket to flush the toilet and washed away the worms which just kept reappearing. During the night I woke up to a bug crawling on the bed. We were woken up in the morning at 830 to be told we had to go town for breakfast even though it's advertised til 10am. When we went down there was just a spoonful of fried rice left which we shared and some bread and butter. There was also coffee but the sugar pot had ants running around in it. So all in all I would not stay here again.   

Wouldn't stay agsin

This hotel has a pretty face at the entrance, but you soon discover its true colours. On our way up to our room we already saw 2 RATS! our room was stinky and there were 50 ants in the sink and they hadn't cleaned under the bed since 1954. Woke up with 35 bug bites on hand. Not from mosquitos. Holes in bathroom walls used for cigarette butts. Wifi works, good location. Breakfast included is unlimited plain white bread with 1 egg. Black coffee too. Overall, not even worth it for this even on a budget. Hard to fall asleep when you feel like you are being nibbled on and can hear the rats in the walls. Would not recommend.

Dirty rat hole!

Was over priced to what we had payed to stay in somewhere much nicer. Room was clean enough but we only had a small, crusty (sorry it's the best word to describe it) blanket. We regularly saw rats running around and the communal toilet never had paper nor a bin to put paper in so was a bit of a mess. The wifi access is good though. Staff are friendly enough but don't expect much help or advice on anything in the city as their English is minimal. Fine for a 1 night max stay

Below average. Don't expect too much

On 12 Nov 2014, we stayed in this 'hotel'.The stay had given us such nightmarish experience which remains unforgettable. An unlicensed taxi operator who picked us from new Gubeng Train Station drove us to your hotel at around 11:30pm. As we were quite tired already, we decided to lodge there for a night. We were shown a list of rooms available. We selected a standard room with a rate of around R125,000. The male receptionist on duty there then informed us that all rooms were gone except one VVIP room with a rate of R260,000 per night. It was our hindsight that we did not check the room before renting. We agreed to the price and were told to pay the full rate immediately.  We wanted to pay by credit card. But the receiptionist told us that the card machine had broken. So, we ended up paying him cash on the spot. Exhaustion left us with little awareness. The 'taxi' driver was waiting there all this while outside the hotel.    We were then given the key to the 'VVIP' room. Expecting nothing but it ended as a complete shock to us. That was a room with no windows. Wall painted with flaking red paint. A queen sized bed was placed against the wall. The room had the worst ventilation and was stinked of stale cigarrettes and mould. The pillows were so stained that we even suspected coffee spill. The horror deterred us from  checking further. As expected, the toilet was filthy beyond belief. We did not dare to take shower in that bathroom that night. All things seemed coated with stains and dirt. Suffocated by the choking stale air and foul smell, we could barely breath that night, let alone sleeping.  Can a windowless room in such condition called a VVIP room? Put aside the issue of cleanliness, we believe that we had been charged 'VVIP' room rate but given a standard room. The next morning, we opened the door and discovered that breakfast was served right in front of our room. We 'escaped' without checking out the breakfast.
