I recommend Trop Homestay to everybody that stay in Gili Trawagan
Room very comfortable and spacious with a separate bathroom and climatisation
Staff so nice, always smiling and very helpfull
Good breakfast served directly at the room
Possibility to rent good bike (because it is not always the case on the island) and for only 2/3 euros per day)

Amazing!

Nice homestay! a clean room with a bathroom. had only a cold shower. not directly on the beach and not in the middle of the mud, but a bit outside. to the beach only a few minutes (2-3min) to the party mile (10min) very nice owner! good for a smaller budget!

It's fair!

The good points: very well located. 2 minutes from the beach while away from the constant hustle of Gili. Ideal for families or couples who want tranquility. Welcome to the top, smiling and kind! Large rooms but not really bright. The bad points: 45€ a night for not having soap and shampoo at all, no toilet paper on arrival (must ask), no garbage can, no towel. We stayed two nights and were forced to ask them to clean the night on the second day because they didn't do it right away.

It's expensive for what it is!

the location is very quiet, and away from the crowds, if you want to the center of the crowd enough to walk about 14 minutes, and the way you can enjoy a pleasant atmosphere, clean rooms, staff friendly and good at playing the guitar, I was entertained with the guitar his staff, because I am not familiar with ac, I stayed in room 6 with a fan, I stayed 16 days and I feel at home, the location is not far from the beach only 45 meters can swim at the beach and saw a big turtle and colorful fish. breakfast is also quite tasty and filling, a lot of people say a lot of mosquitoes here, but it's been a long time and now no longer exists,
here provides laundry is also at a cheap price,
bicycles also exists with the rent is very cheap.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the quiet and cleanliness are at your disposal, breakfast is basic but the kindness of the staff is essential.

the place to be

We stayed four nights at the Trio Homestay. Although the room was not very lighted, the facilities were very good. The bed was clean (but the ears were too high and hard) and the room was very large. The balcony was nice for lunch. The lunches were nice but really basic. We had two dead cockroaches in our shower. Nothing too alarming! Mola greeted us well! A little far from all the action of Gili T for parties but quieter when we want to go to bed. A rather noisy mosque made its sound during the night several times.

Good value for money

We stayed for 2 night, we came so late to this place and was tired so we didn't see and check all the staff and every thing) just stayed because of low price. All the night was rain and at morning all the flor was wet in the room! At morning we check out and some of people who there working stoled money from my room! About 60$ it's not a big deal but feels not nice! So sad about this trip on gili! Better I payied 100$ for a nice hotel then for this getto! 

So bad

We stayed for three nights and really enjoyed it. We had never been to Gili T before and the general consensus is that the island is a rip off in general. You will not get what you would expect in Bali for the $$ you pay. Trio though is good value for money. We compared our room to some friends staying in the main strip who were paying 100 AUD a night and definitely thought we were getting a reasonable deal for an expensive place. We stayed in room 4 with AC the rooms are nice and the bathroom was more modern than the one we had in a nice hotel in Kuta! Also has a little private terrace out the front which is walled off so you feel like you really get some privacy too. Try and book an AC room because it gets really hot here. Also, don't really want to leave doors and windows open because of the amount of mosquitos there- there were cases of dengue fever on the island. 

When you first arrive the street going to the homestay makes you think oh dear, we are staying in a pretty crappy area. Once you get inside the homestay courtyard it is really nice and cute! It is a bit tucked away but still very central. We stayed at NYE and came to really appreciate our quiet area. 

The staff were really friendly and helpful. You can rent bikes from them for the day and explore the island. Doesn't have a pool, but who cares it is literally a walk down the street, cross the road and you are on the beach front to swim in the crystal blue waters! 

The food is of course, basic but good enough, especially if all you want to do is have a quick breakfast and get going to the day's activities. They give you a menu every morning which you choose from- i.e. banana pancakes, omelette sandwich, scrambled eggs etc. 

I hope this helps! My boyfriend & I prob won't visit Gili T again because the island is fast becoming a tourist trap and the adverse environmental impact it is having is both sad and unsustainable. However, if we had to visit again we would easily book this place again.

Great central location and out of all the madness and mayhem, amenities simple but all you need

I stayed at the Trio homestay as everywhere else was booked and the price was good. I stayed in room 5 which had a double bed in and a private bathroom. The room had no AC but had a fan above the bed, it was dark and hot, only one lightbulb worked. There was too much furniture in the room which made it even darker. The bathroom was quite grim, the water from the shower did not go down so you had to shower in dirty old water. The room was never serviced for the 3 days we were there so we kept having to ask for toilet paper and towels, quite annoying.
The other bungalows looked good though so not sure if this was just the bad one. 
The staff were really nice but that was just not enough.
I would not stay in room 5 again.

Dreadful room but nice staff

Accommodated in room number 5, standard room with fan. Small dark room, faulty lighting, dusty fan hanging on the wall above the head of the bed towards the pillows... The staff is nice but not very efficient. You always had to ask them everything: towels, toilet paper, housekeeping, light bulbs, as well as to empty the garbage... Non-existent wall insulations. The mosque very close to the homestay well placed and quite pleasant frame However, despite everything for a night or two, not more.
