We have been in much more expensive places but nothing that feels like home like this place… if you are lucky enough to come in the Christmas season then the Kaffi Kyrrd will be all super decorated (even more over the top than usual :-) with Christmas themes… just magical! The amazing feeling is reinforced by a gracious and attentive staff.  What a place! Looooooved it!

The family room was spacious and welcoming.  The view was lovely. We especially enjoyed having access to a shared kitchen, dining and living room. With food being so pricey, it was terrific to have a kitchen that already had tea, sugar, salt and such. Definitely recommend for exploring the peninsula. 

My daughter and I stumbled upon this awesome coffee shop / boutique hotel while traveling to West Iceland Peninsula on April 6-8. We stayed in the most awesome room with the most awesome view. What made our stay spectacular was seeing shooting star and then getting the rare experience of seeing the Northern Lights!  I am attaching pictures of what I saw from their parking lot at 2:00am. Also, we used this hotel as a base camp while exploring the peninsula. The hostess was so gracious, warm and kind. I can't wait to visit in the summer!  
Also, the picture of my daughter in the window was our view!  

We visited snowy Borgarnes earlier this month, staying at the spacious, excellently stocked and spotlessly clean apartment for one night. I could not recommend it more highly and loved every second of our stay.

On a practical level the apartment is centrally located, has parking right outside, is very generously sized and well priced. But more than that it’s the thoughtful touches, beautiful decoration and incredibly warm welcome that makes it 5 star. Possibly the best bit being that it is located right above the family run Kaffi Kyrrd, so if you fancy a great coffee, a delicious cake or glass of fizz to finish your day - you only have to wander downstairs and settle in.

It's a homey place filled with an eclectic mix of displayed objects. Some show a sense of humor such as the frowning figure holding his nose in the bathroom.
The owners are friendly and welcoming.
There's a comfortable living room and a well equipped kitchen.

So happy to have booked this homestay. It fully deserves its name as you will definately feel like at home. An amazing place and host! Received the most warming welcome by a host during my 2 weeks trip in Iceland. Their approach is clearly "visitor first", as they are doing everything to address every visitors need. Beautifully equipped, paying attention to every detail and with an INCREDIBLE view from the living room. Well done and keep up the great work. 

Last words I got before check in-:”we are gonna super upgrade you!” And damn I got upgraded! From dorm to a small flat!? Super cozy and a really nice restaurant and checkin in a flower shop/restaurant! Love this place and I’ve only been here 10 minutes!

The room was just perfect, stylish, very welcoming, with a stunning view on the bay. I felt like staying there more time, just to watch out of the big window. The beauty of Borgarnes. Room had also a small kitchenette, pretty useful, and free parking. To complete the perfection: just downstairs there's the best café in Iceland, a hidden gem of peace and beauty, where the owners (the same of the guesthouse) - amazing people, very kind and available - they prepare cakes, panini and the best espresso we tried in Iceland.

We stayed again at Katrin’s lovely guesthouse on our way to the Westfjords. This time in the “pink” apartment which really has a  peaceful aura and overlooks the garden, where some hidden people live and the amazing mountains of Borgarnes. The studio has a private bathroom and there is also a kitchenette. The main entrance is shared by one other apartment. Downstairs there is the cosy café serving light (yummy) meals and delicious homemade cakes. The guesthouse is a very special place with really good energy. Don’t miss it! The local swimming pool is a short walk along the beach away!

Don’t miss staying at Blómasetrið Gueshouse in Borgarnes! An unforgettable unique experience! Beautifully decorated, clean room and facilities. Fantastic attentive service from the heart, and last but not least a lovely atmosphere in the arty and green lounge area. You can’t help but relax and feel good at Blómasetrið! Great food, coffee and cake and value for money! We will definitely come back! Takk fyrir Katrin! Love your place!
