Villa Maria

Antonis and Maria - Villa Maria owners are the most friendly and helpful Greek people we met during our Cyclades trip. We had couple of requests and they help us with everything, way beyond standard hotel assistance! on top of that that is a family run business and they are so nice family, we had tears in our eyes when leaving:) What we also appreciated is they are very inclusive and tolerant people with respect to people and animals:) Simply like that - if the owners are giving their heart to the business you see it and feel it in every single aspect of your holiday. Villa itself is a very quiet and relaxed place. Close to everything, but far enugh to have a calm rest. The pool is fantastic, crystal clean and big one with direct view on the hill of Chora with 3 famous chappels on top of it. Hotel has only few rooms so even when fully booked you dont meet other guests:) iEven if not advertised on the web, they offer nice simple breakfast choice like greek yogurth with fruits/cearels, omlette, greek salad, toest, great cofee, fresh orange juice etc. so you dont need to walk anywhere or worry about the food and drink:) we were always happy to order breakfast and it it at lovely veranda with other guests. You can also always buy a cold mineral water with the shop price, so they do not take any tip on it. What we also liked is they are cleary targeting adult tourist and are warning up front about house rules, that were perfectly in line of what we would have expected from other guests as well:) so although we were on Ios, that is a popular direction for youngsters we have not been in the heart of party zone:) we were staying in the ground level rooms with nice patios, that are very nicely renovated and that was one of bonuses we got for free, as we booked 2 rooms and one was at economy standard, so we got upgraded:) villa is located max 10 min walking distance to ferry and to bus stop to Chora. also walking distance of 20 min to one of 2 most beautifull beaches of the island ( there is also a big beach 200 m from the hotel). Generally Ios is absolutely lovely island, with beautiful Chora and stunning sunset views from the top of the hill. As it is targeting a young tourists we found the prices cheaper than on other surronding islands, as well as the variety of food is more international - even with pizzas and pastas:) generaly - we love our stay there.
