Hotel Baumwiese in Boxdorf near Dresden, with effect from 1 August, closed for a while. That's fine too. The old owners threw it away last week. It's with other guests to hope that the new owner will process his business with more enthusiasm. In Baumwiese we found a hotel that doesn't deserve this name. The fully equipped restaurant wasn't in operation. A restaurant in the neighborhood was only accessible by car. The meetings were otherwise well equipped with a meal. Shame. Although we had seven for the price of five nights but didn't deviate from this standard.

Bad and shame

The staff is very friendly and the quality of the rooms is good. The sauna is large. The fitness area is satisfactory. I can only recommend rooms on the street side to guests who are insensitive to noise. I have unfortunately been able to clearly perceive the Federal Road in front of the hotel. The forested environment is very idyllic. The transport connection to BAB 4 and the Dresden city centre by car is excellent. The breakfast buffet is complete and is available in the rustically-looking restaurant (I felt it was comfortable). A real alternative to the city centre if you can skip Dresden's nightlife as a guest and instead enjoy jogging, jogging and walking in the hotel's natural surroundings.

First-class hotel near the forest

On September 27, 2014, we celebrated our dream wedding at the Hotel Baumwiese. With high-quality food, fine wines and a very friendly staff, we made our day a dream day.

The hotel is very nice and well maintained, a few minutes from the centre of Dresden, which is also easily accessible by public transport, the room was adequately spacious and the price ratio was excellent.

That's great.

Didn't we feel comfortable sending room equipment 20 years ago,recently needed to be renovated and adapted to today's standards?That's why room prices are not justified.Breakfast well...for room prices of €135 per night, I ask for more and I'm also used to more.We know better hotels in and around Dresden for this price per night.

Never again.

We wanted to eat in an idyllic environment once for half the price (coupon of the Mopo Dresden) and then we experienced the big surprise on the bill. A Viennese slice even if it wasn't on the card cost 19.00 euros. Yes you read correctly - that's no joke.

Locally

On arrival the receptionist was very unwelcoming. Next to that there was the smell of tabaccosmoke in the lobby. To our astonishment in the lobby part of the restaurant smoking is allowed. The rooms were good and the price relatively cheap, but price is not everything. We would not stop there again.

Try somewhere else

We spend here two fantastic days. We had cosy room with Tv, bath, hairdryer. Hotel has perfect locatication, around 8 km from Dresden, 7 km from Moritzburg castle. Hotel looks like simple village building but modern equipted. We appreciated wellness incl. sauna, massage shower, solarium. And I really loved breakfast. We spend here very relaxing weekend.

Everything perfect

We stayed at this hotel from December 29, 2006 to Tuesday, January 2, 2007. The rooms were comfortable. But the restaurant, apart from breakfast, was very average in quality and extremely slow in service. A disappointing, themed New Year's Eve, to our surprise the Far West, decorated with polystyrene cactus with toothpastes, etc.... a DJ who hadn't noticed the few people who wanted to dance to his music, a buffet worthy of a grilled evening of... fortunately we were for the city and not for that night alone!!!
