Herrsching am Ammersee

Traveling for work, arriving in the evening, hotel colored differently from the photos, is now a dependency of the nearby Hotel Seehof (check-in/out and breakfast are in fact done in the adjacent structure).

A good place to rest

We had rooms with breakfast and were satisfied with the buffet. We recommend booking the slightly more expensive room with sea view (at the Hotel Promenade).

Nice location.

When I booked, I didn't pay attention to the fact that it was 2 houses (sea court). A quiet night was in vain because of the noise of the streets and the rustling beds. The room needed to be urgently renovated and modernized. The broken walls with water stains don't look inviting. The furnishings also had better times. 89 euros for an old and occupied room are definitely too much. The cleanliness was fine - except for the narrow flights network, but is not in proportion to the lack of comfort (e.g. just a tiny pillow). Stay is not recommended!

Don't you need...

The hotel is super situated right on the shore of the Ammersee in the centre of Herrsching. Two hotels, the Seehof and the Hotel Promenade are joined together. We were at the Hotel Promenade. The rooms seem to be dusty, the bathrooms seem to have been last renovated in the seventies or eighties. The breakfast buffet is basic, meaning good but not great. The same goes for the kitchen of the hostel in the Seehof. The staff is business friendly but seems stressed.

It's a nice place, but it's old.

We have had booked a room with seaview and get the room 4. The view is OK, but the balcony is a bit higher than the floor in the room and so you can see from the bed only balcony wall. But you have behind the balcony door a door with a mosquito net. Beds are comfortable, bathroom big and huge TV. Wifi fast and stable. Breakfast you will get in the family hotel in front "Hotel Seehof". Here you will get your keys and will have to go for every request. I could not get a room in the Hotel Seehof and I think this would be a better choice. I do not like the red carpet in the room. It is not the room I have expected for this price.

Hotel is OK but nothing special

My husband and I booked the hotel. The first impression was not bad but at the latest at breakfast I thought I was in the wrong movie. Breakfast buffet has a lot!!!! to wish for, the service staff was hardly to see and if, then only to fill the empty plates and nothing else. Room service didn't even have to change the towels in the bathroom properly made not to mention silent. All in one I wouldn't book the hotel again. This is a volunteer from the Hotel Seehof Not to recommend!!!!

Short vacation

The Hotel Promenade is now run by the neighbouring Hotel Seehof. I am evaluating here exclusively the hotel portion of the Hotel Promenade, not the Hotel Seehof, where breakfast is also served and which has left a rather decent impression. to the Hotel Promenade: in the hallway/trioenhaus a constant undefined smell between garlic, toilet cleaners and the scent of the past decades. The rooms themselves were quite ok in size and equipment, but also came in days (brown bathing tiles, black mold in the shower, not particularly thoroughly cooked, stone-washed (but helps breathe more), and for people to see: Fatal.

It's not convincing.

It's a very nice place located just 5 meters from the submerged lake, a very good experience, but not to be repeated, good food or almost, not the top.

Visit to Germany

Booked an extremely expensive (nearly 200 euro) room, only to turn up and find the hotel completely deserted of staff. 

There is a notice at the reception desk asking guests to go to the hotel next door and check-in there, but then come back to the Promenade to their room. Breakfast was also to be taken at the next door hotel. 

If the proprietor can't be bothered to show up to receive guests (and take their money), then I really don't understand why they expect people to stay there. There was sufficient occupancy in the hotel for it to be running a normal service. 

The hotel advertised wi-fi, but the only place we could make a connection in the room was in the bathroom. 

It was a very eerie atmosphere in the hotel, knowing that there was absolutely nobody there in case of any problems. If there had been a fire or other emergency, I suppose the guests were just supposed to figure everything out for themselves. 

In the morning we went over to the other hotel for breakfast, and were completely un-acknowledged or welcomed. You could walk in off the street and have breakfast there for free. The breakfast team were obviously struggling to provide a double service, firstly for their own guests, and then for guests from the Promenade. Much of the time, there were none of the buffet basics available, such as juice, meat, or cheese. 

Overall a dismal experience, and with plenty of competition along the lakeside, we'll be staying elsewhere next time.

The hotel that just couldn't be bothered

Location is perfect but hotel is somewhat old fashioned. No elevator, you need to carry your bags up the stairs.

Breakfast is served in the hotel opposite, very good breakfast buffet. 

Restaurant under the hotel is very good.
