Already we hate guest rooms. So after booking for a hotel, we ring the villa caroline. Surprise! feeling of contempt. A typical room not really flawless. We froze all night, took the little blanket that was in the room, but so dusty that we didn't dare put it on the bed. The rest of the room was really lacking in maintenance. In the bathroom, it was so cold that we made a cat toilet while waiting for the evening.

Only breakfast can be withheld.

Located in the heart of Trouville, two steps from the seafront and restaurants, this guest room offers all the comforts at a really very reasonable price.

A Necessary Step

No parking as planned on the announcement, thankfully it wasn't on the weekend.Good location, it's a shame that an effort isn't made (court) to maximize the potential of this house.True good breakfast.Cécile

Can do better

The family-owned hotel is located in the city centre, almost near the beach and the fish market, opposite the Anglican church. Free parking is available in the alleys around the house.

That's good.

Very pleasant guest house with a lot of charm. Ideally located near the centre and the beach. Very friendly and efficient reception. Original themed rooms It is not the great luxury but the family dimension is very appreciated. A copious lunch. An address to remember for a pleasant weekend in Trouville.

A lot of charm

The house is typically Norman however the rooms are with displaced themes (Moroccan, African...). Nevertheless they are very well decorated and the alliance with the house is very well made. The hosts are friendly and listening to the guests.

A beautiful and atypical house

A room in the style of the beginning of the last century, with a fireplace and a French balcony in the colors, from which you can see the cobbled street and the church. A tall two-bedroom iron bed, saturated with plush chairs. The smell of an old tree and cozyness. A cheerful and hospitable hostess. Breakfast in the style of Nabokov: five or six guests together - behind an old oak table, eating homemade yogurt, freshly brewed coffee and baggy-croissants with a homemade roast or jam.

Feel like an aristocrat

Living with Caroline and Alan. What could be better? The softest bed, fantastic breakfasts, the English Channel and the lovely people around. The most romantic and relaxing setting.

French house

We called the day before to say what time we'd be arriving... however when we arrived (on time) there was no one there to let us in. After trying the bell for a while we phoned the owner... she said she'd be there in 5mins but it was more like 15mins. After a 10 hour drive (not their fault, obviously) this was not what we wanted. An apology would have been nice but none was forthcoming. Other than not being there to let us in, Caroline was very cheerful and friendly though. 

The building, and the room itself (Malabar) are nicely decorated and comfortable, and we quite liked the shared breakfast table. It's possibly a bit pricey for the size, and parking can be a nightmare (we were lucky).

On balance, just ok...

There are four themed rooms: Indian, Moroccan, Venetian and sub-Saharan African.  Our room was the Moroccan one on the first floor (US second).

The positives: central location, charming hostess (Caroline), tea and coffee making facitilties in the room, excellent TV quality (French only).
The negatives: NO parking, VERY narrow streets, steep wooden staircase, PUNGENT air freshener, only frosted glass in the windows, continental breakfast only - everyone sits around the same table, no chairs in the bedroom, unfinished tiles in the bathroom, hairs on the duvet cover, empty water bottle found under the bed, winter duvet far too thick for the summer.

Regrettably, we cannot recommend this B & B.
