Great stay, the staff were very helpful especially John and Laura, who were very knowledgeable. The food was good every night with a varied menu over the week. Rooms clean and comfortable, good location in resort, able to ski home every night

Great ski trip

Hotel is not new but it has character. It was our second stay here, the food was good facilities were good but best of all the staff were really helpful and friendly and had plenty of local knowledge from slopes to night life. We would not hesitate to return again as it met all our needs. Thanks John, Laura and your great team

Fantastic stay in Tignes thanks to everyone at the Toviere

Operator was Alpine Elements
Pre trip comms/arrival arrangements good.
Rooms not properly cleaned. Mirrors dirty, rubbish under beds, no soap. Reported broken shower head, no shower curtain, dripping tap, sagging mattress and seriously creaking bed on arrival. Maintenance quick to respond but only provided a shower curtain with no further comms after that.
Food was good - a set 3 courses every night with a meat, veggie and vegan option.  
General housekeeping slack. Tables left uncleared constantly, including overnight. Knock-on effect was always running out of crockery, cutlery, glasses. Staff not attentive to this and we had to keep asking for things to be replenished. Often ended up doing it ourselves out of frustration. Not sure if the issue was lack of staff, training, leadership or enthusiasm - probably a mixture.
The quiz and bingo nights were fun. But just one staff member and barman meant very slow service.
Departure was a farce. c.25 guests on bus at 5.45am with no rep and an only French speaking driver trying to find out who else he should pick up and where. Needless to say, we had to solve the problem with him without help from Alpine Elements.
We still had a great holiday but probably saved by the perfect ski weather. Considering the cost, value for money was hugely lacking and would not use or recommend Alpine Elements again.

Great location let down by tired hotel and poor management

Me & 3 friends visited hotel Toviere in early February. The transfer was fairly straightforward and staff done their best to get us to the hotel as quickly as possibly. Although when we checked in, the receptionist sent us to 3 seperate rooms(which were all occupied, meaning we had to carry heavy suitcases up and down the hotel stairs.) Before we finally checked into the correct room. 

Upon arrival of our room, the bathroom didn’t have any shower gel/ soap or shampoo. Which I think is pretty basic for a hotel to provide. Beds were comfortable although. Each guest was given 2 small towels, but were not changed throughout our weeks stay. Our room was only cleansed once throughout the week, meaning it was often left quite dirty.

Food provided was very good, we ate at the restaurant for 4 out of the 6 nights we stayed. A nice variety of food and decent quality. Matty the waiter was very helpful and often reccomended where we could go for a drink afterwards. 

During our weeks stay, we only saw a receptionist once at the counter- which may not of been a problem for us but if there was a problem, who would we of spoken to?

Overall, service not so great & probably wouldn’t stay their again.

Ski holiday 2020

I took over the hotel for 3 weeks each week up to 60 skiers arriving each Sunday.. the staff from alpine elements were absolutely fantastic, Laura the rep super professional meeting all our needs, John the manager kept a tight ship and was on hand when ever we needed, the food was absolutely top notch, the staff Daisy, Matty, Alex, Rihan, Henry and barman Barry were always friendly and polite and nothing was to much effort.. made our stay very comfortable and pleasurable

Ski expedition

1st impressions was as expected as having stayed in French Alps we expect, rustic decor etc. Rooms were clean if a little dated - but as expected. Staff were young and enthusiastic but were lead well by their manager. Bar was reasonably priced. Food was very good and catered for my allergies with many options and the staff would always try to find something for my afternoon tea snacks. MyTignes card was spot-on and did all that we expected. The inclusive mountain bikes and free helmets were in good condition with upgrades available for the downhillers, however, they were more than adequate for rides around the lakes and lower slopes - the mechanic was very thorough. The white water ride was well worth the journey to the lower valley and the cost was comparative to extreme activities at a beach resort. Overall a great experience and would certainly recommend anyone wanting to try a summer activity hols as this company had all the "elements".

High mountain activity holiday without paying sky high prices

Our cycling group have stayed at this hotel twice with Alpine Elements.
The hotel and trip were good value for money, it is an enjoyable place to stay, food is good and the staff were helpful and pleasant. It may not be a five star hotel but it is clean and comfortable, perfectly adequate for the our cycling holiday.

What a lovely hotel, old but served our purpose well,
We are a family of four .kids 18 and 16,
Food was good,
Staff were always polite 
We found this a very casual hotel whih suited our needs, 
you put a sign out if if you need your room cleaned 
Food was all served very quickly which we liked
Bar was very friendly  and not too badly priced,
We done loads of activity’s some costly ,some free with Tignes card which was supplied 
Only downside of some activity’s were miles away and you had too make you way there which was not included in cost of activity,
We were self drive and that worked well for us

Summer in alps

Overall the hotel is good, offers excellent views, and is well located; but it’s unfortunate that it’s staffed by young adults most of whom who were vacant, poorly presented and clearly un-trained in customer service. For instance, the first impression at the welcome meeting was staff sitting on the food surface of the bar with their shoed feet up on the sink! Alex and John were an exception. 

The reception was rarely staffed which was frustrating and left us ill informed especially given that the welcome meeting was poor and didn’t outline the basics of MyTignes card and other included services. During the day, there was not a staff member to be seen (only sunbathing on the limited deck chairs at the unkept grounds and off duty!). When we phoned the Alpine Elements rep there was no answer and no return call.

It was disappointing that the bikes were on a first come first served basis when they were advertised as included every day. The efficiency of bike booking was poor leaving guests waiting daily. 

Orders we made for food were consistently wrong, e.g. it’s not difficult to plate up a breakfast with no beans! One morning, we requested early breakfast and were promised that this could be accommodated, to our disappointment on the morning in question we were left hungry!! It was standard practice for tables to be left not cleared whilst staff glared into their mobile phones out of sight in the bar area. When hot breakfast was available it was good. (Two days it was not available! ). However, the other choice were limited with basic bread and a domestic toaster to serve approximately 60 guests, fruit that was not fresh and water that was not cold. Overall, the evening meals were good, obviously a skilled chef presenting delicious dishes. There was two evenings where the meats were clearly the cheapest meat cuts with fat and grizzle which likened dog food, clearly limited budget given to the kitchen. Unfortunately, the children’s menu choice were never appropriate which was awkward despite us having requested this before the holiday and upon arrival. 

The swimming pool that is advertised on Alpine Element’s online brochure relating to this hotel is a misrepresentation and not always open  to guests. When we enquired we were informed that the swimming pool is not owned or managed by the hotel!

Generally the hotel was clean and the room was made up daily which was pleasing. 
 
Tignes as a resort was amazing for families with plenty of activities for all ages. We will return but NOT to this hotel.

Irritatingly shocking service

We stayed in the hotel haut de Tovière as a family of 5 including 3 teenage boys. We chose a self travel package and arrived at the hotel on a Sunday evening where our introduction pack was available ahead of an induction meeting on the Monday morning. The package included a half board meal plan which suited us well and was of good quality (my wife is a vegetarian!). The staff were excellent and very helpful throughout. The hotel is 800m from the lake which is truly beautiful (but very cold and you are not allowed to swim in it!). We availed of inclusive water sports, SUP and kayaking. We also enjoyed the hard tail mountain biking around the lake into Val Claret (slightly disappointed the the include bikes were not suitable for actual mountain biking, to rent a suitable bike was an extra 60 euro per bike per half day) and the lift passes allowing walks in the mountains. Separate to our included package we went white water rafting and canyoning through Evolution 2 which I will review separately. 
We have only one criticism which is the beds!!!! Very uncomfortable which probably slightly compromised our enjoyment of the multiple activities which we otherwise thoroughly enjoyed.
