The welcome and stay at Antoinette and Charles'house is always on top; always good advice for hiking to do.

Accommodation

We spent the night in this guest room, a short stop between the boat and our campsite, we loved it with our two children, there is nothing to be said about the reception, the room, the guest table, we had a very good evening with Antoinette and Charles, we will surely come back.

A very nice break before we arrive at our holiday resort.

It could have been good: the house is beautiful, the setting is pleasant, the room is decent, although old and without looking for decoration, nothing to say about the homemade kitchen. But.... there is Antoinette who regents her establishment  like an adjutant-chief: parking arrangement, strict hours (breakfast 8am to 9am), expresses a peremptory tone, turns around the dinner table urging us to eat, mingling with all the conversations... The next day, at 8:45am, the breathing apparatus was entering the rooms and the mistress of the rooms was already there for her service.

It's too bad.

Thank you Antoinette for her good mood, dynamism and kindness, excellent meals, rich, with good products, and in the morning for the little dessert and the bread made by Charles, she tells you the nice tours to do, the nice restaurants and the good products to buy, and in the evening you will have a very good time around the big table with the cordial stories told by Charles that will make you laugh.

A very warm welcome from Antoinette and Charles

Very welcome to this family home. Very good typical and copious cuisine, fresh produce, and quality, good atmosphere. Bravo to Charles for his very funny stories. Bravo to Antoinette for her cuisine and jams.

A warm place

Without a doubt it was the worst holiday accommodation in Corsica. I honestly don't understand all the positive reviews. I'm leaving the reservation uncomfortable, since you have to call the phone to talk to the very general owner and if you want to try a one-time-only experience, do so.... Once you get to the house, you realize that it's at the end of a village but when I say finally it really means that there's nothing more in there, it's just the road.

Devastating on all fronts

I stayed as a solo traveller in mid September 2013, Antoinette was away so Charles was in solo charge. As this was the case there was no "table d'hote" dinner available. Breakfast was simple - bread with homemade jam and coffee, perhaps for randonneurs/hikers some muesli (granola), fruit and yoghurt would be a welcome and simple addition? 

The rooms are decorated in cast off materials from the 1970s, some simple redecoration in better taste is in order. There is no fridge in the room and had to ask Charles to use theirs, and then couldn't use the outdoor table to eat as the establishment had a bar ("On a un bar vous savez"). At least a proper communal fridge and free outdoor area with a bbq SVP (these are very Aussie expectations I know). That said, I would have eaten the "table d'hote" dinner had it been on at 20 Euros

I am not French but I do speak it in fact!! However, if this place wants to attract non-French budget travellers, it will have to open its cultural gates a little. .... (All that said Charles was solo while I stayed). The location is fabulous and the walk to a small swimming hole is very welcome on a hot day. Access to mountains hikes is just out the door too. Corte is not far away - a scruffy but interesting place. Supemarket (Geant) on the drive back too (but nowhere to store food!!). As a solo-traveller I was price penalised too, better for two or three people ( I paid the same rate) to be "budget" accomodation

With some changes to small things this could be a great place to stay. Would like to see some reviews in Italian, German or English, there actually are some on Booking.com. Don't worry about "technology, Wifi etc., this place doesn't and shouldn't need it (note to Antoinette and Charles if you read this!)
