I stayed at Le Pont Neuf with a friend(2 males in mid 60's) for 6 nights in mid-May 2010 and had a mixed experience. We booked it on the strength of your review in 2007 and can endorse much of what it says.However the Hotel is no Ibis it is abit flaky in some respects and I got the bed from hell-a springy mattress which should have been on the tip years ago.After two nights my lower back was very painful and to be fair Mme Argioles agreed to move us to another room with a firm bed for me.Sadly there was no bath to soak in after a day's walking and we had to make do with a low grade shower with a poor mixer.There was no door on the WC but a curtain. The Restaurant food was average to good with a choice of Menus compris from 12E to 23E and the service was good. Alas the bar was only a good place to chat if you were French and we were completely ignored by the locals and the other residents all of them French. My French is a bit basic and broken but I wasn't given a chance-being old and male didn't help either.By all means stay at Le Pont Neuf but go in a big group with at least one with good french.
