Hotel Thisted

We booked in here at the last minute for our mini break, and it was good that we did because the hotel turned out to be fully booked. We were located in the new block at the back, which was extremely new and shiny, all top quality and very clean. The room was spacious and had a sofa. However for some reason there was practically no storage space for clothes so you wouldn’t want to unpack for a longer stay. The balcony wasn’t much good to us as the weather was wet, but since it was a ground floor room we would have been sitting in the car park! So if you can get a room in the old part you might find it more charming. One nice touch in the room: our towels had different coloured tags, so we could recognise our own even after hanging up. I wish other hotels would do this, it would make it easier to reuse the towels over several days. Although our room was right next to the car park, it was very quiet and the bed was soft, we slept very well. We ate in the restaurant and had a lovely meal. Important to lean back and take it slow, as the staff were very busy and not always able to prioritise. Breakfast was extensive and fresh, with fresh fruit and salad (radishes and red currants as well as cucumber, tomato etc) as well as cereals, fresh bread, cheese and cold cuts. A jug of coffee was waiting on our table as we arrived, which was a nice thought, although if we had eaten late it might not have stayed fresh? Due to Corona, we had allocated breakfast tables, and there was plenty of sanitizer around, however the restaurant was full and people were not so good at respecting the distancing around the buffet, pushing into the gaps to grab a piece of bread etc. Free parking and WiFi, central location, and a friendly feel made this a good option in Thisted.
