Howard Johnson Plaza Lingang Shanghai

I spent 2 weeks in this hotel because 10min taxi from my company plant. Hotel is clean and quiet (very rare in Shanghai to be in a quiet area). Rooms are confortable and propose a wide range of amenities. The laundry service is efficient and affordable. There are 2 restaurants (1 Western + 1 Chinese) I had dinner in both of them and their food is great. In the western restaurant I was alone but I did not care. I could read that breakfast was not OK. I don’t understand because there is a lot of choices : eggs cooked on different ways, bacon, sausage, beans, cherry tomatoes and lots of Chinese dishes (noodles, soups, buns, vegetables ...). Also Western food : different breads, cakes, platter of cheese. Fresh vegetables... For sure there is no entertainment in the hotel but I am not expecting karaoke or billard or sauna when I travel for business. If you need to see people you can ask the reception to book a taxi to drive you to BAOLONG or PING’AN, places 10-12 min by taxi. If you need to go downtown you would need 75min. I would have appreciated an outdoor lounge place because they have a vey nice terrace with wooden floor, bamboos and a little river. I would have enjoyed reading a book or having a drink outside. Apart from the detail I will definitely come back for my next business trip to Lingang area.
