Modest hotel that would need a nice refreshment but largely compensated for by Carmen's hospitality and kindness. Common bathroom.

Good situation

I don't recommend this place. dirty, smelly, no ventilation. pets circulate on the dining room tables. hygiene is less than the minimum necessary. I regret having visited this hostel.

The worst place in Punta Arenas

We were going to stay four nights and only last two nights, they were old facilities, the bed was horrible, the bathroom was full of mushrooms upstairs, for a little longer you're going to a good hotel, the good thing is that it's central and the piece isn't so expensive, the best thing was the breakfast, the lady was very conversational and didn't like politicians.

Very deficient.

Mrs. Carmen is a lover of attention... but her facilities are of very low quality: dark rooms, with a damp-red roof as well as bathrooms, painted in a very sad dark orange.

The hostel is very large with quite a few rooms, the owner is the one who manages and receives, very kind the lady, helps you with the tours and the things you can do in the city. The breakfast is contundent, that's only from 7:30 to 10:00 AM. If you have a tour before you leave the breakfast ready for you to take it. The beds are soft and comfortable, giving you a towel for personal use.

Homey, cozy and comfortable.

It's a large hostel but full of outdated, tasteless and dusty decorations, and the worst of all is the smell of the whole compound, mainly at the entrance and dining room, where there's also a cat that climbs on the table and a dog that steals from the passengers.

Mal olor/Bad smell

Adjusted for the price, nothing, small, cold room, and the lady's not as nice as I read in other reviews, in fact, the only positive Wi-Fi note in the room, but it doesn't always work, and there's a small TV in private rooms.

Very basic accommodation in dark and run down building. Given budget nature and lack of cafe, was a shame we were not allowed to use kitchen in a town not exactly brimming with options. Host was not  friendly and made us feel awkward to ask about kitchen, or for soap in bathroom etc. 

Uncomfortable atmosphere 

The owner calculated much more for the room then was agreed with booking. At that moment I thought it was maybe a mistake and our fault. But since i am have read several reviews of others (this site and booking site) where she has done the same.

Fraud !

It was an horrible experience, as the owner turned out to be not so nice as she presents herself. She tried to rip us off with a different price than booked with booking and even wanted us to pay 19 percent more of the taxes which foreigners are normally exempted. We managed with a horrible word fight not to have to pay the 19 percent taxes but still had to pay her price. She insulted us in spanish thinking I wouldn't understand. It is sad that such people manage to ruin in some way the end of your vacation. Two other negative points to mention were the horrible smell at the entrance as well as in the room, in which we were even not allowed to open the window. It was also the first hostel, in which it was forbidden for tourist to prepare their food. The rest of Chile and Patagonia as well as their people were amazing, but this episode was a sad souvenir.
