We loved our wagon. So comfortable double bed, hot shower and amazing location.
Christ the Administrator is so kind, chatty and helpful. We loved our stay in Onkel Inn. Do not think twice and go for one of the wagons ;) it is a wonderful experience!!!

This place is great for a central stop over in Uyuni. The rooms are snug but clean. The breakfast is great with a choice of eggs to go along the buffet. 

The staff had great recommendations for food and were so helpful. We accidentally left out towels behind and they posted them on to us via a bus service to Sucre. They really were the best!

The host was incredibly helpful in telling us about the tour company and the transportation options in the area. He was also super patient and kind and taught us a lot about Bolivia! The location is great. The sleep box is of course small but they have fans that keep it ventilated and nice sitting areas.

This place is very original to try, the sleepboxes are very very small, I would only recommend them to pass a new experience for just one night (I don’t recommend it at all for older people). 
I could also try the wagon room (a room in a train wagon basically) which was very comfortable and got everything you need!

The "rooms" (capsules) are very small but have everything you need including a flatscreen TV.  The place was super clean, breakfast was good but the best part about this place is Chris, the host.  He is super friendly and took me around for a tour of the place when I arrived.  He explained how everything worked and gave me many tips about booking my Uyuni Salt Flat tour the next day.  He is interesting to talk to and interested in his guests.  When I came back from my tour 3 days after my stay there Chris let me in to relax a little and repack my luggage before taking my night bus to Sucre.  Super appreciated!  Thank you so much for everything!  I strongly recommend the place.

We decided to stay here because it looked like a fun experience. We stayed in a small cabin with a bunk bed. It had tv, and the beds were really comfy. 
Breakfast as included and was pretty good. 
Bathrooms were good as well and had hot water. One of the few places we could have a nice shower.
The staff was nice and very friendly.

We had a good stay here, the staff in particular are super helpful and welcoming. We stayed one night before heading out to a one day Uyuni tour. We got one of the capsule rooms in the hotel itself which is in the train station. Very warm which was great because July evenings are freezing cold. Everything was clean and tidy. The rooms were a bit small for 2 people but we made do just fine for one night. The shared bathrooms were clean. We got in the shower late and so shower was a bit like warm. Breakfast is included; we got scrambled eggs and bread and there was fruit, a small selection of cereals and coffee/tea. They also let us keep our bags in a locker for the day for free. Overall a good stay. Only downside is that it is quite expensive for what it is.

Fun experience

It was a good stay. 

So I booked last minute thinking that I'll stay in a wagon for the mentioned price on booking.com. when I arrived they showed me a room that wasn't a wagon but a 0.8m x 2m tiny room. I said that booking showed me a wagon. Then in details of the room there is a horrible picture (of course with such a tiny space it's impossible to take a picture decent enough for anyone to see clearly). I didn't want to pay such a price for this room and I requested an upgrade at a reduced price. The receptionist agreed to it. Then we signed the papers (see pictures attached saying that the payment was for 2 nights in the wagon) but early morning next day they said I have to move back to tiny room or leave the hotel. I do not agree to this behaviour where the owners agree to charge for upgrade then act as if they never received the money. This tells a lot about the management of how they treat their clients. THEY WANT YOUR MONEY, ONCE PAID THEY GO BACK ON THEIR WORD. Never seen such a  greedy administration in my 13 years of travel through 65 countries. It has ruined my experience in Uyuni.

I also own couple of hotels and I do understand the complications they are facing when listing their property in booking.com .I offered my help to set things clearly so that other travelers won't be facing this issue. But they clearly didn't want any help to be able to clarify their booking. When I started with booking.com I too faced issues of people misunderstanding, but I took advice and rectified. 

These guys if they don't even take advantage of someone with knowledge about how to clarify their listing but fore to pay more.

Since I feel bad about the owners just to be sure I asked the receptionist to come and have a loot at the room for damages or any possible suprise charges I might have. I took a video of the recipient stating that everything is ok.

Summary:  misleading information about rooms.  Rude manager, possibly a scam.  We were so shocked we cancelled.  Read on for full details. 

The first thing to note that capsule rooms are extremely small (2m x 1m), and the pictures the page have listed are not representative at all.  Second these rooms are not located in the train wagons and are actually in the lounge of the hostel.  They are  extremely small despite costing 30 dollars - pictures are attached.  Look around elsewhere because we got a beautiful double room for the same price in uyuni - absolutely shocking. 

The small rooms are not the worst part - when we realised we were paying 30 dollars a night to stay in this we requested a refund because it was misleading.  I want to say at this point that the reception staff are really very nice, but the manager had to deal with the refund.  At first he said to us that we couldn't cancel and that the booking.com website provided all of the information needed.  At first he acted as if he was going to show us this information on the site and we encouraged him to but then he didn't which makes me think this is very scammy rather than negligent.  We then pointed out that when you book on the website it doesn't say these rooms arent in the train - they only clarify this after by email so you then have to cancel after they have neglected to put key information on the page.  They show the rooms inside but not where they will be, and I pointed out that this is very misleading and he responded by saying we shouldn't tell him how to run the establishment.  At most he would offer us 50% money back and when we said this was poor service and that we would leave a bad review he claimed no one reads the reviews, and that he doesn't care, and that we can't even leave a review if we cancel - he had a point on the last one and I suppose this a weakness of the booking.com platform that enables some scams to continue.  Oddly, after we brought this up he did relent, showing he did care about this scam being brought to light.
