Over 2 nights, 11 adults stayed there Repairing literature...ideal (removes stress and fatigue) Home and garden décor very well maintained, everything is thought out for the family: games for young children, baby soccer for adults... Despite the passing road, our sleep in Morpheus' arms... welcome with little attention and discretion from the guests.

Family Weekend at a Wedding

Total luxury. Very clean, comfortable beds. Great hosts who were very friendly. Comfortable with loads of space. Great for families, there’s a lovely garden for kids to play with a trampoline.
Can’t wait to stay here again. 

So glad we picked this B&B because it's location was brilliant for Yrpres town and visits to Menin Gate, Cloth Hall. Also 5 mins away from Hill 62 and Sanctuary Wood, Hill 60 and Tyne Cot Cemetary. The old forge conversion is beautiful. Basically it is two family bed and breakfast rooms(both of which are two bedroom accommodations) with joint access to a down stairs huge lounge and kitchen. We had both rooms so had the run of the whole house as we travelled as two families. We paid cash on arrival and were greeted by the friendliest couple that own the place (and live next door if needed) we were given advise where to eat and what to visit. Breakfast was amazing and plentiful and was waiting for us the next morning. Everything you could possibly want at this B &B. Tea, coffee, milk, wine, beers, soft drinks and so much more and an honesty box if you take anything from the filled drinks fridge! Spotlessly clean, beds really comfortable and we were left to vacate when it suited us! Dieter spoke brilliant English and was a really lovely man who went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Everybody we met in Belgium was sooooo nice and friendly.

Overnight visit of the Battlefields and Cemetries of Ypres

What a wonderful place. Stayed 2 nights. Everything was just amazing. Our hosts dieter and his wife are a wonderful couple and run a great place. Great hospitality and attention to detail. Communal area  with games, books , TV and DVDs. Fully stocked honesty fridge with local beers. Amazing. Great place to stay to visit Ypres.

Just fantastic

We were welcomed warmly by Dieter owner of the B&B. What made it special was that we had both the rooms that are available, therefore we had the use of the kitchen and lounge to ourselves. Dieter prepared the breakfast which is an optional extra but what an option, he said it was a typical Belgian breakfast. The table was some 8 feet long and it was full of breads, yogurts, fruit, cereal, croissants and juices a feast!
The beds and facilities were excellent. I would highly recommend especially if you take both rooms. The only downside would be if you have mobility issues as the stairs to the rooms are quite steep. 

First Class

Stayed for 2 nights and very much enjoyed the stay.  We stayed in the area to visit the Bellewaerde Zoo/Park which was is also recommended, rather than because of an interest in the War, but it seems that even now the area, and this accommodation, is heavily reliant on visitors as a result of the area being linked with the War.

The accommodation appears to be a converted garage workshop, and has been converted with care, and has not tried to pack in too many rooms, so it offers spacious private and shared accommodation.  The bathroom was very clean and the shower powerful.

The welcome from the owner was friendly and informative, and the breakfast imaginative and enjoyable.

The only problem I had was with the pillows and the bedroom roof-light.  The pillow was big and heavy and I found it difficult to sleep on, in the end i swapped the pillow for the towels in the bathroom which was a big improvement.  I was subsequently told they were ex Belgian army pillows (?).   Also, it was difficult to sleep with the window open as the window was a roof-light (with a small vent), which had a built in blind, so when opening the roof-light there was no blind to stop the moon and street light shining in.  It would have been nice to have had a more conventional pillow in the wardrobe as an option for us fussy sleepers, and possibly a curtain fixed to the window surround.

Would recommend the accommodation and would look to stay here if visiting the area again, but may request the room facing the back away from the street light.  

We did end up visiting some of the local war 'attractions' and found the accommodation to be in a good location for this close to Leper (Ypres) for the Menin Gate / last post ceremony, and also Hill 60, Hooge Crater Museum & Tyne Cot, so long as you have a car.
