Guest House Corazon

First off, Veronique, I apologize for my delayed review! My friend and had been backpacking through Europe. After we had spent much of our time running around, taking planes, trains, and whatever means we could find, we wanted to go somewhere that was more serene and relaxing. We had heard great things about Brugge/Bruges, so we decided to take the plunge and go. It was love at first sight! Once we arrived at the Guesthouse The Swan, we were greeted by the beautiful and lovely Veronique and her sweet Jack Russell Terrier, Louise. Veronique's home (aka the Guesthouse The Swan) was beautifully decorated and felt very homey- just what we were looking for. We stayed in the attic, so we could spread out and really relax (I slept in the main bed, while my friend Sasha got to enjoy the view from the loft). The attic was perfectly clean, welcoming, and the beds were both very comfortable! Veronique was very informative and recommended we eat at an Indian/Asian restaurant (frequented by the locals). The food and atmosphere were both great! The next day, we woke up to a wonderful breakfast prepared by Veronique (breads, jams, cheeses, tea, coffee, yogurt, and fruit). We were also lucky enough to accompany Veronique and Louise on a walk to a nearby park where we learned more about her and the city. Her home and the Guesthouse The Swan is in a great, central location. Veronique was warm, informative, and beautiful! She definitely made us feel welcome in her home and in Bruges in general. Both my friend and I have nothing but fond memories of our time in Bruges and at the Guesthouse The Swan. So much so, that I can't wait to go back! Also, aside from the great atmosphere at the Guesthouse The Swan, all of the locals are very proud of their beautiful city and were very happy to help with directions and making us feel welcome.
