Savoy Hotel

It was great to be in Savo6as was easy to do whatever I wanted at my own time.  Very convenient for business and leisure.  T the stuff were good and helpful from parking to good food and good public relations. 

A place worthy trying and be ready to negotiate the prices in noon peak month

Me and a colleague went to the Savoy, as the other hotel where we stayed in Ndola did not have a good internet connection, was very noisy, and I did not feel 100% secure.

The Savoy Hotel in Ndola is a big hotel, and it seems that time has not progressed here . It seems it is managed by ex-soviet managers. One example are the lifts. There are two lifts, each manged by lift boys, who do what you normally do in a lift: press the button of the floor you need to go to, and that's it! When you need the elevator to go down, you need to order it by phone from your room.

Besides this peculiarity, I find the hotel a bit over-priced compared to what you get: I had an executive room, which meant a very big room, with a good bed, including a mosquito net. The bathroom was very old, I did not get the shower running, because the hose was blocked. Internet was OK, not too fast.

After a sleepless night in the previous hotel (because of the street noise) I had a very good night at this hotel, I slept like a baby.

Breakfast in not impressive at all, you order an egg, there is some toast with marmalade, some cereals, and that's it.

In summary, if you want to have a quite night, sleep well, and do not mind to pay too much, this is the place to be. Do not expect anything else!

Seems like old soviet hotel

It is around two years since I last stayed here. This is a hotel that is in a 1970's time warp. Little has happened since. As others have mentioned a member of staff takes you up in the lift. If you want to go down you have to phone reception to book the lift. 

I had an executive room which is two adjacent rooms one equipped as a bedroom with a large double bed and the other with armchairs and a fridge. A large TV in that room and a small TV in the bedroom. A bathroom in each room. The washbasin in one bathroom was at a slight angle. Running the hot tap at more than a trickle meant that water splashed onto the floor. The toilet was very close to the wall so you need to sit on it at an angle. Care if showering as the bath is slippery. Soap provided but no shampoo.

The floor of the rooms is tiled, a vast improvement on the ancient carpets elsewhere in the hotel.

My first night at the hotel was a Sunday and very few occupants. So breakfast (included in room rate) the next morning was in the coffee shop, on Tuesday morning it was in the main dining room.

In both locations very limited choice. Cereals, choice of two, cooked breakfast by order on the Monday, on Tuesday buffet style. Absolutely no fruit and the only fruit juice an extremely sweet orange colored drink, no indication what it was. Toast had to be ordered and took several minutes to arrive.

I had a snack lunch (toasted sandwich) in the coffee shop on the ground floor on Monday which to be fair was actually good.

Did not take dinner at hotel, eat elsewhere.

In all the hotel is in drastic need of complete refurbishment, staff helpful, hotel overpriced and if you want to pay with debit or credit card they will add another 4% to the bill. 

There are only two hotels in Ndola worth considering. The other is slightly better but the Savoy being in the town centre was convenient to me for meetings. I had flown from Lusaka and did not have a vehicle with me. As an aside negotiate any taxi fare with the driver before commencing the journey.

Once the Protea opens in Ndola I wonder if this hotel will last.

Old not new!

the only good thing in the hotel are the eggs in the morning
there are good and bad rooms you get a good (?) one after 2 days ofComplaints
in the good room you   Might find a difrent very small animals crawling all over
the tv will not be repared even after you go home
the workers are Humble and hardworking
thet is no new savoy hotel only the old one with pictures of other new hotel

This hotel is probably one of the most rundown hotels I have seen the place does not improve what so ever In my oppion it is one of the worst hotels in ndola due to the bothered attitude from management I don't think there a so Many lodge FAR much better than this hotel
