Laurel Hotel Hue

We ended up outside this hotel, which was initially not the hotel we intended to stay at, but we were exhausted from all the traveling and the heat and checked in anyway. We ended up leaving after four nights! Laurel Hotel was perfect! Centrally located behind a long street with wonderful restaurants and cafes, 10 min walk to the imperial city, two doors down from the main road along the river, and you can still get a good night’s rest in. A tray of complimentary bottled water left on each floor level. There is breakfast in the morning, with a lovely choice of fruit juices, tea or coffee and yoghurt with fresh fruit and pancakes or toast and eggs. Although the English was not impeccable, they did their utmost best to help and advise wherever they could. They helped us with booking our flights back to Ho Chi Minh and a taxi to the airport. Despite the price, this is more a ‘flashpacker’ vibe. The air-conditioned rooms all smelt fresh, clean white towels and bedding provided and it was beautifully cleaned everyday. Only downside was the shower system, but you can’t really get past it in Vietnam. If ever I were to return to Hue, I would most definitely stay at Laurel Hotel! Highly recommended!
