About a week ago, I arrived at the airport in Hue and took a bus into the city, having been dropped off right before the roundabout in Ha Noi. I just wandered around looking for a hotel with a room available. I stumbled upon Phong Nha and the staff were very welcoming. Though the hallway was a bit dark in the middle of the day, the double room I booked was very spacious. It seemed old, but still very clean and tidy. The atmosphere felt very much like a homestay and it was a very pleasant, quiet neighborhood. Though not near as near to the Citadel as I'd like, the staff helped me get a taxi for about 30,000VND ($1.50) and another taxi in the morning for about the same price to the Hue Railway Station. The older gentleman at check-out, tried to figure out the card machine, telling me after a few minutes he didn't know how to operate it, understanding, I chuckled a bit and just opted in paying by cash. I wish I could have stayed longer in Hue to explore the tombs, next time I will definitely come back and stay at Phong Nha.
