Staff was very nice and I am very happy with the room as well as the wifi and location there. The breakfast and dinner was delicious if you ofer. They also give me a voucher for next time . Love it, should try!!

This was a one night stop for our group amid a two day excusion in the Delta.  Our group was to say the least quite tired and this hotel was a very welcome break towards the end of a month long expedition to Vietnam.  The standard of the Hotel was far above what we had been used to - it cost a bit more but well worth it.  Staff were very helpful and did not seem put out by my group which at that point consisted of 16 rather rough looking students!  Could not fault the rooms - clean and spacious with good shower/baths.  We only used the restaurant for breakfast in the morning - found this to be excellent value.  When back in this part of Vietnam I would not hesitate to use this Hotel again.

Just what we needed!

Best hotel ever

2nd time visited this hotel was a bad experience. The staff/receptionist could not speak english, service was terrible. We had too find the room ourselves and carried all the baggages. The room was bad, no window, door broken,bed sheet shredded, tv with no english channel, room phone was not working, no service until we went down and complained and asked for another room. They could not provide the room for the same price we had to pay extra for the room with 2 beds instead . Our first time there was much better that was the reason why we came back 2nd time but no more coming back after all that. The 2nd time was a bad choice. We were really upset. Never again

Bad experience

A Vietnamese friend who travels in the Delta recommended the Phuong Dong as centrally located in Can Tho, the regional metropolis, and good value for business travellers -- which we were.  We reserved a room by phone and arrived a few days later to find a renovation in progress.  There was a lot of dust and drying paint.  The first room we were shown was dark and reeked of tobacco smoke (despite the no smoking signs throughout the hotel).  We upgraded to a brighter, bigger, more expensiv but still dusty room at the front of the building.  Air con and wi fi worked well.  The two beds were comfortable. We had a large bathroom that ought to be better lit.  The breakfast buffet was OK but not memorable.

Cheap Sleep

Very poor experience by comparison to other hotels in south of Vietnam.
We stayed for 2 nights on our way Mekong Delta tour and the room was without any outside view.
Well; onto a concrete wall actually. 
The room was depressingly decorated years ago and not much was done to keep it up to date.
Cleaning was non existent and main street outside is very noisy.
Breakfast was a very poor experience on Christmas Day with lots of other people present with either lack of cutlery, including chopstick, or when the cutlery arrived the food was gone. 
We didn't bother coming down to breakfast the next day.
We knew we wouldn't find the same 3 star quality as in HCMC but the experience was even below the basic. 

Not recommended, sorry.

Not a 3 star hotel

The hotel is old and run down. The bedding is stained and everything in the room has a horrible smell! It is far from any nice restaurants and their restaurant serves only Vietnamese food. Rather pay a bit more and stay in a nicer hotel. Staff has limited English skills and are unable to assist when you encounter a problem.
