Great hosts with dine in option, home made food, delicious!! Swimming pool was great for kids. It is a little bit isolated from the town so if you enjoy peace and quiet, this is the perfect spot! Highly recommended

We had a great and very relaxing time! Breakfast on the beach, perfect view on the palms and an excellent home cooked dinner that made us feel like part of the family. Thanks a lot to John and Jeanette for the stay!


Thank you John and Jeanette for a lovely 5 nights stay. We were feeling as part of your family, especially when joining your 5 *  dinners. 
To have Breakfast sitting directly at the beach was amazing, so were the fresh croissants, home made jams and yoghurt. 
The location is fairly close to Mele Cascades, Zip Line and Hideaway Island and the Beach Bar at the ferry to Hideaway is not to be missed for their fire show on Fridays at 7 pm. 
John is happy to do drop offs, also to town, which limits the need for taxis to the return trip only.
We would come back any time.


Everything from the beautiful daily beachside breakfast and delicious home cooked dinners exceeded my expectations. John and Jeanette were the perfect hosts, whether it be advising us on activities to dropping us off and picking us up from wherever we wanted to go. Thankyou for making my holiday one I will always treasure.

What a gem!  John was not there, but Jeanette was absolutely amazing, picked us up from the airport, cooked our dinners, took us to a fire dance, took us to town every day.  She is the best hostess we have ever encountered.  The property is absolutely amazing.  The rooms are clean, comfortable and just lovely.  The position is fabulous, right on the beach, and breakie outside in the hut was yummy.  The best place we have stayed at in memory.  Thank you, Jeanette.

What an excellent holiday.
Our family of 5 occupied both downstairs bungalows. They were set up in a summer Island style and quite comfortable. 
The location is about 20mins out of town, but the location is quiet and tranquil. 
The afternoon breezes were excellent as was the breakfast is the beach hut.
No wifi was good, just helped with being able to switch off from the world. 
John and Janette were excellent hosts. 

We booked at waves on Bukhara for two primary reasons- 1. Hoping for a sandy beach and the proximity to a kite spot- we’re kite surfers, and 2. The mention of free high speed internet on booking.com- we both work remotely.

Waves is located a few km down from the sandy beach- mele beach- but the property itself has a lot of jagged coral and rocks. It’s not great for swimming and totally unsuitable for kiting. Didn’t take off a star for this because my husband could’ve confirmed there was a good beach - bad assumption. The internet however, did not work- too slow to even check  email. While I understood this was out of John’s control, I think listing accuracy is important. We ended up spending $80 on SIM cards and data. 

 We had dinner one night with John and Jeanette and subsequently did our own thing  (we tend to eat on the healthier side) but john’s cooking was very tasty. It was very nice chatting with Jeanette. Likewise cream-filled croissants with jam aren’t really our typical breakfast but if you like to indulge on vacation you’ll be very, very happy with the food and I would certainly call it 5*. 

The unit itself is very nice. Airy and filled with light and a lovely view to the ocean. Some mosquitoes and lizards due to a few window and door seams that aren’t closed, but that’s pretty standard for the islands.  Kitchen is reasonably well equipped. The jacuzzi looks great - a bit too hot to use it for us but a nice amenity.

As accurately described in other reviews the location is very remote. Unless you are content staying on the property the majority of the time you should plan on renting a car. Nothing is walking distance. I think it would be a lovely place for a family to stay.
