Everything was absolutely wonderful, they have a very nice manager, front desk is very helpful with accommodations, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is good. Also, the points I get with the rewards is a big plus.

Comfortable

I stayed there for a night and it was and excellent experience. The front desk staff were amazing. The room were well kept bed soft and comfortable. Breakfast was great they had options I could choose from and I loved that. Definitely going back!! 

Best experience ever!!!!

The two girls at the front desk were fantastic! We stopped for the night without a reservation. They were nice enough to switch our room to one on the ground floor when I mentioned my husband had a bad knee, they were ready with recommendations for dinner, but the best part is... They asked about our trip. When I said we were on our 25th anniversary trip, they surprised us by decorating our room while we were out to dinner. There were balloons, heart shaped towel art, rose petals, chocolates, hearts, oh my goodness, it was amazing! 

The evening front desk girls are fantastic!

Real fast was the best I’ve seen in my travels this past 2 weeks 
I have stayed at a different Choice hotel for the last 14 days as I am traveling for work 
This was a pleasant surprise 
The hotel might not have a fitness center or an elevator but they sure make up for it 
Carrying luggage for guests giving recommendations for places to eat and things to do

Grateful

Staff was friendly upon check in. Even gave us a snack bag which was a nice touch. Rooms were newly remodeled. Very clean rooms and common areas. Breakfast was great and had so many options. They gave recommendations on the best places to visit as well as the best places to eat. The staff here from the housekeepers to the front desk staff as well as everyone else went above and beyond to make are staff amazing.

Amazing and would highly recommend 

Management refused tio address the ongoing problem of cockroach infestation, chewed up by bed bugs, and most of the electrical outlets were broken 
not enough to meet basic human needs whcih is deplorable, unsafe and just disgusting

This has always been a budget hotel. However it’s not much of a traditional hotel as of Fall 2021.

The management has decided to use the hotel to house the influx of Sub Saharan African and Central American refugees here in the area, shipped in from out of state for Maine’s generous handouts, such as free hotel rooms!

The entire hotel is filled! 

In the Portland Press Herald December 24th edition, there’s even an article about how management has decided to use their property to house refugees. 

No joke, in the report the manager mentions they removed the continental breakfast bar and replaced with a food pantry!

Give it a year and this place will be completely trashed, as it’s happening in a lot of the cheaper hotels in South Portland area at the current time.

Has been turned into a homeless shelter hotel for refugees!

Older cheap hotel- sagging sofa, stained carpets, but clean and maid showed a great deal of integrity, not taking her mid-stay tip which we decided was likely because we didn’t make it obvious with a note or something.   WiFi acceptable enough to steam a movie.  Due to COVID-19 breakfast was bagged with edible selections. No oven- just a 2 burner cook top and a decent size fridge. 4 cup coffee pot, dishwasher.  3 stars vs 4 because of the really bad sagging sofa and stained furniture & carpets, and the tiny coffee pot. Also the suite slept 6 with 2 queens and a pull out sofa but seating only for 3 and dishes for 4.  If cooking in your room you will need your own cutting board and knives.

Quality

We booked this hotel for just over $150 as a same day last resort, so our standards were very low going in because we just needed a place to sleep for one night.  However, when we got there, the room had a seriously intense smell of stale cigarette smoke.  It was clearly a smoking hotel in the past, and smelled like someone had smoked in the room a few days earlier.  We spent less than an hour in the room before we both had headaches, and upon walking to the door we realized that the lock to the room was broken OFF.  Not just broken, it was even there anymore.

Basically we wasted $150, because between not feeling safe and feeling like were inhaling second hand smoke and knowing that all our clothes and luggage would smell like smoke the next day, we just cut our losses and booked a different hotel and left.
