We aren't generally fans of all-hookup resort campgrounds, but we wanted to stay on property to access Cedar Point. We were so glad we stayed at Lighthouse Point. Beyond just being convenient, the park is laid out well, the sites are well-landscaped for a bit of privacy, the bathroom/shower buildings are clean and well-maintained, and in the end, the friendly staff make the park. We'll go back.

Excellent Choice

We only stayed here one night and I'm glad.  We stayed in a deluxe cabin and they did a great job using the space.  However, there were a lot of ants near the kitchen.  I don't know that I would have wanted to stay any longer and risk having ants in our stuff.  I would not have been able to relax.  Fortunately we only slept here, got up the next morning and checked out.

Eh, Fine For One Night

What a great place to stay that is within walking distance of the park.  We cannot wait to go back.  We have season passes and loved not having to drive home at the end of the night.  I just wish that someone explained the shuttle bus service when we checked in.  This was our first time staying here.  It wasn't until our second day that we realized that there was a free shuttle service that would take you to anywhere around the park.  We used it to take us to the different entrances to the park. Depending on where we wanted to go.  It saved a lot of walking to get back and forth from our trailer.

Great walk to attractions, beautiful views, friendly staff

We stayed in a deluxe cabin and there was plenty of room for myself and four teenagers.  I understand it is a cabin and there are bugs while camping, but someone in the cabin prior to us had killed quite a few bugs, and the dead remains were still stuck to the walls.  Pretty gross, but we were able to wipe them down pretty easily - cleaning is not exactly what I wanted to do to start my vacation.
The kitchen was as advertised, nothing special, but since we had planned to just put some water bottles in the fridge it was good enough.  The one issue here was that there were a lot of ants in the kitchen - again, I know it is a cabin so there will be bugs, but it surprised me to have so many ants when we didn't even really have food in there.  I mentioned the ants to the front desk and they acknowledged that they have ant problems in some of the cabins and said they would send someone over later.  We are not sure if anyone ever came because we headed to the park, but there were still ants when we got back from the park.
The bathrooms came with plenty of towels, toilet paper, soap, shampoo and conditioner, but it also came with a lot of mildew on the curtains which made it smell horrible the entire time we were showering.  The shower heads were very low, even the shortest in our family standing at 5' 5" could not standup under the shower head.
The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of sheets and blankets, but the blankets were thin ones, so if you like a heavier blanket - bring your own. 
The kids were able to find something they liked on the TVs the evening when it was raining - there seemed to be a good selection of TV channels and the TVs were of good quality.  The wifi worked well in the cabin which was a must with 4 teenagers staying with me.
In the end we had a good trip, it was convenient staying so close to the park, but I think the next time we come back, we will be looking to stay in the hotel, not the campground.

Maybe we aren't camping people?

Waterfront cottage behind cedar point.Love a peaceful place to rest before and after the park.

Our WiFi did not work. The Cedar Point staff gave us a phone number but the company we called had no idea how to help us. Very frustrating.
