Greenpoint Lodge

Overall I had a great stay. I stayed for 2 nights in the double suite on the 3rd floor. If you are self-sufficient and don't mind sharing a bathroom, kitchen, and sitting area then this place is for you. The whole place was very clean. The lodge is a cross between an apartment home and a hostel. If you are looking for a front desk, valet and bellman you will NOT have that here. It is perfect for someone seeking clean and safe budget accommodations with easy access to Greenpoint and Williamsburg. E-mail communication with the host prior to my stay was great. All information was e-mailed to me ahead of time including the door code. No problems getting in and settled. I paid ahead of time online with a credit card. The location is amazing- 10 minute walk from Williamsburg and the G subway line is right outside the door. I felt very safe in the area. I ran into Gloria (the manager I think) and she asked how everything was and if I needed anything. Other than that I really didn't see anyone else the whole time I was there except other guests coming and going that were staying on the second floor. Totally fine with me- I love my privacy. Complimentary ear plugs were in the bathroom and bedroom- nice touch. Towels were also provided. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if I needed to come back to Brooklyn. My only suggestion would be to improve the beds- my bed had a metal frame and it was very squeaky with the smallest movement. I was staying alone but this could be a factor if you are staying with someone and don't want to wake them up.
