Wow, I checked in later than they liked, they treated me like a criminal, they wouldn't let me in, they talked to me and booked me in through a window.  The room they gave me stunk, and only had one bed when I booked for two.  I left right away and got my money back. They told me that no other hotel in this town would let me in either.  That was a lie.  Never stay here.

This was awful

My partner and I live about an hour outside of Gallup, NM and found ourselves in town in need of emergency auto work over the Labor Day weekend. Given that we were totally without a car and my partner uses a wheelchair and we had groceries and her service dog in toe, we were forced to stay two nights at this hotel because it was the closest place we could get to from the auto yard that had our car. Personally, had I had the option to stay in my broken down Mercedes, it would have provided a better two days of shelter. We were greeted by.. no one as the staff were no where to be found. When finally checking in, the dead hanging plant above the door and empty can of cat food all over the property was our first sign of the atrocity that was to come. Then, I spent 20 minutes (the first of several such “conversations”) educating imthe owner on Service dogs, we would later be forced to have this chat again .. this time with police present. 

Upon entering the room we found a half drunk bottle of water, a  bed side table with cigarette burns, a broken shower surround and a shower that didn’t work (literally no water coming from the shower only to the bath part), a hole in the shower ceiling covered only by a piece of wood, another hole in the area just above the closet with zero covering that, and a lock on the outter door that didn’t fully work. Let’s also not forget that there was an extension cord over loaded, a blanket with burn marks in it and just one larger towel and one smaller towel provided. 

Also Zero fire alarm. 

On our second night there were 7 Gallup state police cars that spent the day processing two room and arresting guests. 

The properties grotesque state is only met by their owners and staffs rudeness and lack of understanding on their own industry. How they can even charge $40 a night when close by all the other hotels charge on average $55 and are in good shape with knowledgeable staff and welcoming functioning rooms. 

Again... I would have rather stayed in the parking lot of the pep boys chain rather than staying at this heap of crap dump.

PS I am forced to give this hotel one star in order to post this. They don’t even deserve that. My partner spent 30 of her 50 years training all over the world hotel chains as a chef and manager. When she saw the state of the room, she immediately went looking for staff who met her with anger. When she politely using all her training and skills, that housekeeping must have missed our room and would there perhaps be another room to move to, she was yelled at, complete with profanity, demanding that if we didn’t like it we would have to either leave immediately or stay out of his way.

I should have slept in my broken down car instead...

Do not stay at this hotel.  We heard loud arguments, a gun shot.   Rooms were horrible. Air conditioning was loud and noisy and didn’t cool.  Limited places to charge phones. I would rate this place an absolute zero.
