I do not write reviews but feel I need to in this instance as the food and service was excellent. The haddock was fresh, tastey and delicious,  the batter was mixed fresh, the chips were the best. The ambience was wonderful, locals very polite and accommodating on a Friday lunch time. The landlady and landlord are wonderful the Guinness and beers good.
We enjoyed ourselves very much and stayed longer than anticipated as the prices were very reasonable.

A spur of the moment day trip to Bromyard meant finding somewhere for lunch. This pub on the High Street had a blackboard on the pavement advertising home-cooked food, so we thought we’d give it a go. Entrance is to a public bar that spans the width of the building: three draught beers on offer (Wye Valley Butty Bach & HPA; Timothy Taylor’s Landlord), so a good start! Welcomed by a very friendly landlady who pointed us towards the menus displayed on wall-mounted blackboards in a dining area accessed from the side of the bar. The menu apparently changes frequently depending on the fresh ingredients supplied to the kitchen and the whim of the chef - no bad thing when his background includes employment in the kitchens at The Dorchester! Our visit was, fortuitously, on a Friday - the day after the regular delivery of fresh fish. We opted for the sharing fish platter, but could have chosen one of half-a-dozen fish dishes listed - they all sounded delicious. There were other non-fish options that were also appealing - we’ll definitely be going again to sample! We chose to eat at one of the courtyard tables outside, the day being warm and sunny: there is also seating available outside under cover. Managed to park in the pub’s car park, but spaces are very limited.

Definitely a pub with character offering excellent food. Don’t expect modern, corporate gourmet pub surroundings - but that, for us, was a plus point. Welcoming, with good beer and food - what more could you want from a town-centre pub?

Great pub, warm welcome from landlady and customers alike. Perfect selection of real ales, Wye Valley and Timothy Taylor’s. We were offered complementary Mussels to sample and afterwards beautiful calves liver. What an amazing surprise. A local jewel. We will aim to return……

Well after reading a particular review in April I was gobsmacked because our experience was that the bar lady was extremely helpful and polite and the food was absolutely delicious and a real credit to the chef 

Visited recently with my wife and young son. Despite it being a busy Saturday afternoon, we were made to feel very welcome by staff and regulars alike. Would highly recommend a visit if your looking for a traditional “local” pub with a warm welcome.

We both had the Thursday special 
Beer Battered fish with chips & peas 
We absolutely loved it.Full of flavour, plain and simple cooking at its best.
The meal was hot, tasty and filling.
Along with 2 pints of beer.
We thoroughly enjoyed both the meal and the drinks.
We can recommend this local public house in the best possible light.

I can only comment on the food, but the beer-battered cod and chips I had yesterday was among the best I've tasted, served to perfection. Good value too, and a very friendly, hospitable little place in a truly delightful little town.

A proper pub with three great rooms , I know this because we had all 3. Staff are super friendly and very helpful, no food served but as this is Bromyard there are loads of super places to eat . The anchor cafe just up the road is quality for breakfast , the stairs are a bit narrow but don’t let this put you off . A great place to stay

Went out of the way to make sure I got a good night's sleep! Showed my the room with choice of beds and the choice of bathroom or shower room. Clearly pointed out that this was a room above a popular pub, and was therefore likely to be noisy, to make sure this was what I wanted.

A group of ladies out for the afternoon for a few beverages and rugby watching. The lovely lady in the Queens Arms couldn’t have been nicer. Great pub, great atmosphere. We’ll be back next year. Many thanks

Fish Friday!

Trying out the over 60s lunchtime special 

This is a lively pub with 3 rooms - 2 bedrooms and a 3 room apartment where I stayed. None of the rooms are ensuite, they share 2 bathrooms between them. The apartment would be ideal for a group of friends or a family who don't mind bunking in together in 2 rooms. There's a good sized kitchen with a huge fridge, cooker and microwave, some crockery and cutlery but very little other cooking equipment. There's a double bed, 3 singles and a camp bed plus a sofa and TV. The pub are upfront about the noise - 80's music until 1.30am, but they provide earplugs and once it finishes it's all quiet. Upsides - friendly, comfy bed, fridge and proper kettle for beer and tea. Downsides - advertised parking but there was a marquee on the car park, quirky old fashioned and not recently-decorated bathroom, loo in front of beer garden window!! There's also no breakfast although there's places in the town to eat so it's not too much problem. Another downside could be that you have to be back before the Pub closes and you have to push your way through the crowds to get to the stairs up to the rooms.
