Beautiful room looking out into the garden, decorated tastefully absolutely spotless. Fantastic shower room and soft towels. I couldn't fault it, wonderful value for money.

This was exactly what we were looking for, we needed a bed for the night as had met friends for dinner and drinks while they were on a canal boat holiday. We had to leave early the next morning to get back for work. It was clean and tidy. We wouldn’t stay for a long stay but for the one night it was good. Staff were very nice, friendly and welcoming.

Simple, but good with friendly atmosphere.  I felt at ease.

Clean and tidy.  Friendly staff.  Convenient for the train to Bath

Loved the location and freindliness of staff.  All very helpful.  Food great too and service. Room was great for money and very comfortable but there is a £20 fee for dogs we didnt know about.  This covers for each 2 nights you might stay.

Plenty of parking on arrival, nice pub with room upstairs. Check in was easy and hassle free, room was very small but expected from reading previous reviews. Very smart and tidy though with great shower. Mattress a little unforgettable. Poor wifi signal. Pub/restaurant service eas excellent menu was very creative with plenty to choose from. Little disappointed with the quantity of the meat but overall was good. Breakfast started at 8:30 and was the best ive had in a long time. Id stay again as a stop over but due to the room size it would get quite anoying.

Good place for a stop over and a bite to eat

Nice looking pub, plenty of parking and the staff were very friendly. The room was ok, beds were clean and comfortable, not sure about what looked like a half eaten choc chip cookie left in a jar by the coffee. Did not like that the outside door was to be left ajar so anyone could walk in and if you let it shut by accident then you were locked out. I did this but luckily the pub was still open. For the price I would stay again for the night but wouldn't want it as a base for any longer

Good overnight stay

We found the Barge Inn quite easily, about 5 minutes walk from the station. It is on a main road but set quite far back, so noise is not a problem.The person who greeted us was friendly and seemed relaxed. There wasn't a long list of rules !!!!The room was very cosy and clean, and the bed was really comfortable. We also had a really great view of the canal.We never tried the food, or the breakfast, as we were eating elsewhere. But the beers and ciders in the bar were lovely … and cheap !There is also a huge garden and also a smaller garden right on the canal.It wasn't really the weather for using these so they were in winter mode, but I bet they are magic in the summer.I would recommend both the town and the Barge Inn to any other travellers.

A nice comfortable place

I stayed overnight whilst visiting friends and enjoyed my stay. The room as really cosy and sweet, as I was on my own I didn't have any trouble with the size. The there was no noise disturbances, there is a road outside but I didn't find that troubling at all. I stayed for breakfast the next morning which was also very nice.

Perfect overnight stay

Nice Hotel, staff friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast wasn’t included in the price of the room which was disappointing.Soap dish in the shower was broken, shower head was clogged with limescale and one of the lampshades was cracked. None of these affected my stay but attention to detail is expected when you are paying £109.00 for one night.I requested an early check in which was £10.00 and meant I could check in from midday which was good value.

Friendly welcome and was exactly as expected. Nice room, good value

Room was single size not double. Staff more than made up for it, they were excellent, especially  Natasha.
