I took my husband here, for his 40th birthday celebration. Everything was just perfect. Easy check in and very friendly service, everything was explained to us well, and she prepared the breakfast order forms for us too, that saved us having to go back to reception to order. 
We stayed in the Sanctuary Suite and wow, what an experience!! It was private, with its own private hot tub, entrance and parking just outside the suite. Short walking distance from Bowness, where we went for our evening meal, at Boardwalk Bar and Grill with lovely views of the marina and lake.
The room was amazing with all the mod cons, fire effect heater, Bluetooth speakers, TV in the bathroom, shower separate from the bath, lakes spa toiletries included, plus slippers and robes. The hot tub was such a treat, perfect temperature, mostly covered, with lights and very clean. 
The cocktails, milk and water left in the fridge was a special touch too.
There were lots of hot drinks options in the room, with a coffee machine and a kettle included!
The breakfast was just amazing and brought to our suite at no extra cost, at the time we requested it at!
Our stay included an afternoon tea at the Fizzy Tarte, which was just wonderful. A perfect afternoon tea.
Our stay far exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return. 

Amazing experience

Our first  impressions was good then , after looking around. We noticed The tv was fitted not straight , carpet frayed , mini bar was a joke and being woke up every morning and night as the other guests don’t seem to be able to close a heavy door quietly, the good points , very comfortable bed , the bathroom was the best part of the suite , nice and central everything in walking distance, but you have to walk up to main hotel for breakfast this wasn’t made clear at time of booking , the hotel staff and food was lovely but not sure I would want to walk that in bad weather and is up hill going there , Mini bar that’s worth £50 wasnt Great and no where near £50 , for what we paid for the suite we really was expecting more as it’s classed as Luxury, the attention to detail isn’t there .

Nice central position

We have stayed at the Cranleigh church suites previously and to be honest I would say this stay was disappointing. We've spent 2 nights here which was a gift for my husband's 40th birthday. 
The room was nice, lighting very strange, could not put the bathroom light off at night. We previously had an iPad for these things. The bed was honestly one of the most uncomfortable I've ever stayed in. The room was very noisy, either street noise, other guests or the staff cleaning the room opposite. 
No hot water on our first night, this was resolved but not before a failed attempt at a lovely bubble bath. 
There are also several warnings around the room about excess charges for steam and noise as well as a hefty security deposit. 
There needs to be some maintenance on our room, I can't speak for the others on this stay. The sink was chipped, blind in bathroom covered in flies and a damp smell in the bedroom.
I have always raved about the Cranleigh, hence booking for a second time, but I don't feel the price reflects the quality anymore.

Disappointing

Make up stains on furniture, rips and tears on furniture, mould in grouting around jacuzzi, frayed carpet.

The list goes on… indoor jacuzzi jets didn’t turn on-even though we filled the water way past the line for them to activate and waited an hour; furthermore plastic label covering the buttons for the jacuzzi outside had peeled away on its last legs with stains.

Upon entering the room, beautiful set-up with music and fire visual under the tv flickering, I also paid £10 for petals to be placed on bed which was displayed perfectly; as soon as we turned on the light though; there we crisps broken up on the carpet before heading into the bathroom.

Maids were supposedly inspecting and cleaning room before our arrival as we told to check in after a specific time stated by text message/call.
-I phoned the hotel to let them know the short-comings we came across and of course I didn’t want them to think we made the stains as they charged £500 and you have to put down a security deposit of £150 on arrival.

Neighbours above kept us awake after midnight due to loud music and arguing after I assume too much alcohol consumed, we contacted security who eventually arrived an hour later.-I understand this is more the individual than the hotel’s fault but how they dealt with the situation could have been a little more prompt to solve it.

No breakfast was included with the room rate the cost of £454.50 for the indulgence suite was a hefty price for the problems we found.

The morning we departed I phoned the hotel to see if there was something they could do with our unsatisfactory stay; I was put through to the head of housekeeping; whom didn’t fully understand what I was dismayed about, but understood I was unhappy and that point I saw a partial refund the only acceptable solution, to which she said she will call me back.
But it has been more than a month now and no call.
Therefore a factual based review is appropriate.
Please be careful where you spend your hard earned money.
This place does not live up to the room rate prices.

Hotels ignorance.

Stayed in the Opulance Suite.The room isn’t really that big, but is beautiful. 
The bed was really comfy and the spa bath is just fabulous. Just what was needed after 7 hours out hiking. 
Bit if a pain having to go up to the Cranleigh to check in and had to provide ID. We stay in Bowness a lot and have never had to provide our ID. Dropped our luggage off, then had to go back out to park the car. 
The room was immaculate, really good complimentary drinks in the fridge and soft, fluffy dressing gowns.
Would definitely stay again, had a glance in the Indulgence Suite on the way out and that looked a lot larger room, so would probably try to book that.

Lovely relaxing stay

A wonderful stay in the Indulgence suite, so much so that we're looking to come again next year. A lovely touch to have a birthday card left on the bed for my other half and the room, bathroom and outside areas were absolutely spotless with reed diffusers throughout. Hot tub and jacuzzi bath were also excellent, the bed comfy and a great location in the centre of Bowness. The upgrades have definitely made it value for money- car park although a 5 minute walk next to the main hotel is more than adequate. 

Great little stay

Stayed overnight for my birthday with my husband in the church suite. It was a luxurious suite possibly not to everyone’s taste but a nice feel to it. Took us a while to get used to operating the lighting but it was a nice touch to the room. 
We were offered a selection of complimentary items in which we chose champagne and a teddy however later received an email to say there was a system glitch and this is now no longer on offer to us which was disappointing considering the overall price of the suite for one night. 
Right near lots of bars so got very noisy later in the night but this can’t be helped. 
The suite had other guests in other rooms and they were so noisy, I could hear someone slipping around in their spa bath upstairs and stomping about. Someone forgot the code to get in at around midnight and was banging on the front door shouting for a good 5 minutes. Then later someone came back drunk shouting in the hallway and stomping around.  Not the cranleighs fault that other guests were inconsiderate but you can literally hear everything going on around you. 
We found it all entertaining and saw the funny side of it all but other guests might not be as childish as we are. 
This isn’t for everyone but overall we enjoyed our stay and won’t forget it in a long time!

Overall good experience couple of blips

My husband & I have just returned from a night in The Indulgence Suite. What a beautiful suite! Very spacious & clean. I asked for a couple of changes to the birthday bubbles package, as well as a colour change to the single rose & nothing was too much trouble for the staff at The Crangleigh Boutique. The changes I asked for were accommodated & were stunning. This is our 3rd time staying with The Crangleigh Boutique, first was in The Sanctuary Suite & the second was in Luxury room 6 - again no faults with any & both were gorgeous. The staff are always very welcoming, pleasant & helpful. We are already planning our next stay 💖 Thank you The Crangleigh Boutique for making our 1st Minimoon of the year a fabulous, luxurious one 💖 See you again soon!

Gorgeous Suite

Won’t be back. Room was very small and ridiculously hot, you couldn’t control the heating, there was a dyson fan but no remote so you couldn’t even control the fan temperature. I love a warm cosy room but this heat was something else. 

The electric blinds didn’t work so couldn’t let in any natural light. Wifi wasn’t working. Bed wasn’t big enough (felt like a double rather than a king).

The jacuzzi/bathroom and mood lighting are the best features. We did enjoy our stay but the heat in the room ruined our experience. The location is excellent as it’s only a couple min walk to bars/restaurants but I do think it’s slightly overpriced. 

If we didn’t come across the above issues I would say it’s worth the money, but the fact it wasn’t perfect (and for the price it should be) results in a disappointing stay unfortunately.

Overpriced / disappointing

U booked to stay here for my husbands 40th. We stayed in the Passion Suite. We were exceptionally disappointed with the room for the money that we paid. It was small, the TV was next to impossible to work and the plug didn't stay in the bath so it dranied once in it. This meant the jets on the spa soaked the entire bathroom as the water wasn't high enough.

Breakfast on the first day was nice but not edible on the second day. I ordered eggs benedict and the whole dish was so overcooked it was rock hard. My husband had salmon that tated like it had been left out for a while and tea was spilled on the dish, assumingly from when it was delivered/carried to us.

We did tell reception and it was nice to receive a bottle of champagne by way of an apology. I would have preferred some money back. We looked to stay elsewhere but there was no availability at such late stage so we had no choice but to stay.

Do not stay here!
