Ron and Liz were fantastic hosts, very friendly and welcoming. It was a trek up to our room but we were told that beforehand, however the view was spectacular. The room itself was cosy, warm the beds were very comfy and it had lovely warm shower. Breakfast was lovely with everything from a full english down to cereal available. Woul happily stay again

As we headed up to room number 6, it was a bit of a hike....rewarded though by a great view, clean and tidy room, comfortable bed and a nice shower.
Liz and Ron were fabulous hosts.
The Breakfast was absolutely scrumptious.

Nice b&b clean and tidy lovely owner Ron and liz very friendly and welcoming top breakfast filled us up even gave our dog Rosie a sausage breakfast good location  5 mins from the sea definitely be back. You can see from our pictures amazing view

We have just arrived yesterday and we was welcomed by a good person and I had a excellent night sleep and the breakfast was excellent and the service was excellent to. Liz and Ron you are amazing hosts.

Although we had booked a non refundable room through booking.com, Blencathra were very prompt to refund us, which they did not have to do. It was very generous of them and I would like to say thanks a lot. We hope to book again in the future.

Really good value for money, polite owners, great breakfast, rooms clean and tidy, shower good, great location, only 5 minutes walk to the harbour...can’t ask for much more. 
Will definitely use again. 

Just to say ABig Thank you to Liz & Ron for a Brilliant long weekend, nothing to much trouble , brilliant breakfast , spoilt for choice what to eat. Spotless rooms, comfy bed, apart from being on the top floor (48Steps !!!!!!), but that was the only thing , but after 2 days it was fine. 
    Will be booking again in the near future, thanks again.😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀, will recommend the B&B .

I picked this B&B as it was dog friendly and our Chihuahua needed a holiday. 

It was at a great price for 2 nights and a great location. The surrounding area is very hilly to the centre of town though so be aware!

The rooms are dated but clean functional and have everything you need. 

The breakfast was a full English for me with black pudding and was really tasty and plenty of it. There was also cereal,toast,fruit and plenty of Orange juice and tea & Coffee.

Ron even supplied our little dog with an extra sausage which she saved till dinner (Thanks Ron).

Will return to this B&B as it ticks all the boxes.

We’ve been coming Whitby for weekends with a group of friends for a few years now. One of the reasons we keep coming back if the warm welcome we receive from Ron & Liz. They’re always accommodating and ready with a joke to make us smile. The rooms are in a classic seaside B&B style and are always clean & tidy. The full English breakfast will keep you going till mid afternoon. Until next time

Unfortunately Corona forced cancellation

We had concerns after reading recent reviews and contacted the management company . Their communication was timely and reassuring. 
We were prompted twice to pay a £25 security fee to gain access information. After messaging the property through the link on booking. Com again this was dealt with. 
We got our codes, as promised at 3 pm on the day. 
We stayed in Room 1 on the first floor . First impressions were clean and smelled fresh . Towels and shampoo on the bed neatly folded . A lovely view of the Abbey. 
Everything we needed for our stay, tea making facilities , iron and board , hairdryer.  Shower was electric and clean , no shower gel provided.
Location is good . 
Negatives .. only from preference. We would have liked more pillows ( an age thing 😂) contacted management but unable to supply. Bed is quite low but comfortable. 
Could be made a little more homely with pictures and a light shade. 
A basic but adequate accommodation.

Xmas Market weekend

This is now a rooms only accommodation.
Most rooms do not have en-suite. Room 2 has a bathroom down 2 flights of stairs!
The room (no.3) and our separate bathroom were clean. Had issue with the towels smelling funky when wet, but I had taken my own.
You get in using a code for the lockbox outside the door - no problem with that. 
Husband had concerns about getting out in a fire, no signage on our floor. All rooms were non smoking with fire sensors, yet someone in Room 1 was smoking.
WiFi was good, as was the heating. The property is in a good area close to westcliff.
Recommend take
Eye mask, as fire sensor flashes all the time
Own towels
Sensible shoes! (To walk around Whitby)

Cheap and OK

Nice breakfast ! The room cobwebs around the bed sheets and bedding smelt like the quilt had not been  washed in a long time . When I got home you could smell the odour on my pj,s . Also the towels had a funny smell as if they had been dried but not washed from previous guests , my friends all said the same

Book at your own peril.
Booked a 3 night stay and arrived in Whitby excited for a nice break. 10 mins before check in received a message to say room won't be ready as it had not been cleaned. Asked us to come back tomorrow. Tried to call the place both numbers on booking.com didn't work. Had to cancel via booking.com and find somewhere else to stay. Thankfully looks like they did us a favour as reading through recent reviews we dodged a bullet. Looks like the place is a hole certainly looks like it from the outside. The one saving grace is the company that run it did return all our money, even the £3 they tried to take of the deposit.
