Dolphins Hotel

The Dolphins Hotel Bournemouth A small hotel, privately owned and managed by a very helpful and obliging couple, Miles and Lena, who have been there 20 years. The location is good being just up the hill from the Square and all the eateries situated there and just a few minutes walk from the BIC, the Pleasure Gardens, Pier and the beach. My room was clean and with a comfortable bed but basic (only soap supplied- no other toiletries) but it suited me fine. There are other options besides the Full English if a lighter breakfast is requested, served in the hotel's basement. Instead of a bedside table there was a bedside fridge which worked and was actually useful in my ground floor room. The shower was straight forward to work and it worked well but the flow could have been greater but it was perfectly adequate and of reasonable size and we are encouraged to save water when possible! There was no hair dryer, but probably available on request, nor a shaver point. I was very glad that cushions had NOT been placed on the bed pillows as is common in hotel rooms these days and which I think is unhygienic as I expect they get dumped on the floor. I had a very enjoyable stay and will definitely return to The Dolphins when I next go to Bournemouth. In addition there is limited on site car parking with an EV charging point.
