Me & my husband came to Downshay Farm for a long weekend and it did not disappoint! Not only is it a beautiful site with amazing views but it is a family run working farm which makes it even more worthwhile! We were able to choose our own pitch and had a brilliant view of corfe castle and the steam railway! The site was immaculate, everyone was respectful of eachother and had the added bonus of having a camp fire in the evening under the stars! Facilities were good. Lots to see and do nearby too, recommend studland bay and old Harry rocks!

The site was quiet and spacious, despite it being August and nice weather. Great facilities including freezers, hot showers, 6 washing up points, a washing machine, bbq borrowing, firepits allowed. The best bit was the stunning views. Great location.. 10 mins from Swanage, which was beautiful. Worst bit was trying to find a perfectly flat piece of field but it was worth putting up with that for all the other great features.

We just had the best weekend at Downshay Farm.
One of the best UK campsites I think we've ever stayed at.
The view of Corfe to one side, and the coast of Swanage to the other. And the sunsets were so beautiful.
Our little camp at the top of the site was perfect for two tents and a campervan. And the whole site seemed very chilled and not overly busy, so you weren't waiting ages for a shower or a sink for washing up!
The site is a bit sloped, so choose your pitch well, but all in all...absolutely fantastic!

Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful - answering any and all questions we had. The stipulation of pick your spot but leave 6 metres between you and any neighbour meant we all had so much space. It was all very relaxed and the van each morning with pastries and milk was an excellent start to the day. BBQ library was inspired too! Everybody was very friendly.

This is a great camping site. Wonderful views of Corfe Castle and surrounding areas. Close to Swanage. Amenities were clean and the owners were helpful and friendly. Had a great first camping experience. Will definitely be back next year.

Stayed here for 4 nights, had awesome views of Corfe Castle and loved seeing steam trains leaving Corfe heading for Swanage. The site is large with several fields but even when full, over bank holiday weekend, lots of space and pretty quiet, am impressed that owners don’t just fill it to the rafters. 
Can walk to Harmans Cross station easily. 
Two petrol stations with shops/supplies are within easy reach. 
Most pitches are non electric and on slight slope. 
My only ‘suggestion’ would be to have more toilet/shower blocks. The ones they have are basic but adequate, they are clean. I just wish there were more of them. 
Love the ‘borrow a bbq’ idea. Great!!

Great campsite, clean facilities and an amazing view. Easy check in with helpful staff, plenty of space in the gently sloping camping fields (enough for a game of cricket!), generally nice and quiet with plenty of toilet/shower/washing up facilities. Will definitely return.

What a lovely find! Total gem hidden away. Paid £12 per person and it was perfect. We were met at reception by a very friendly man who very kindly gave us kindling and logs which we had forgotten in the rush. There is also a bbq library for you to borrow and return which I thought was a great idea. The showers and toilets were very clean and had hot water!!! The main selling point for me was the view the campsite faces corfe castle and the sunsets were incredible. A little far away to walk to anywhere on a night such as restaurants and pubs but we didn’t want to leave the site on a night for not a problem for us. There is a spar shop 5 mins drive away too if you forget anything. Will 100% be back and highly recommend. 

We visited Downshay Farm over the Bank Holiday weekend and were not disappointed. Friendly staff, clean facilities and the most amazing views towards Corfe Castle and out towards the sea. A very chilled vibe for what can be a busy weekend. Would definitely recommend. 

OK so this is how camping should be. 3 large fields with well maintained essential facilities and a friendly welcome., no gimmicks. The star of the show here is the view, particularly from the top of the field over towards Corfe Castle, which for us was enhanced by cloud rolling up the valley close to sunset as we set up camp and bbq'd. The challenge is to find a flat pitch as most have a slight incline and the higher up the field you pitch (for the view) the greater the incline. Talked to several other very happy campers. Will be back.

Old school farm campsite with amazing views. Great value

My partner and I just got back from the best weekend away at this campsite. 

There was so much space on both fields to pick a spot, which meant you could get as much privacy and space as you needed.  The views of the fields, cows, train and corfe castle were absolutely stunning. The campsite is on quite a slope, which meant that our cups and plates did slip down the table from time to time, but this was completely worth it for the views! 

The toilet block was clean and had everything you needed. It can be a fair walk away, depending on where you pitch up, so I think this is something you should bear in mind when choosing your spot. The campsite was covid secure with regular handwashing stations and mask wearing and social distancing rules in the toilet block. I also appreciated the addition of the BBQ library and freezers.

The campsite was very quiet at night and seemed a generally friendly place to be! In the day plenty of activities are a short drive away, and we really enjoyed our visits to the beaches. 

Overall, everything completely exceeded our expectations.

Thank you again for a wonderful stay, we will be back!

A beautiful campsite with stunning views.

We spent two weeks at Downshay and it was a complete joy. There were a lot of covid measures in place which made you feel safe and due to distancing, there was a lot of space between pitches which was fantastic. The showers were really nice and just the overall feel of the place was comfortable and positive. 

The view of Corfe Castle and the surrounding countryside is the highlight of the campsite. Where we were positioned, we could also see the sea and the Isle of Wight. The Gentleman in charge was lovely and it was just a perfect stay, especially after so long in Isolation. We will be back!

Beautiful Campsite, brilliant stay

Fantastic campsite! Excellent facilities and we visited during Covid. The owners maintained very clean facilities with sinks, taps and door locks being sanitised numerous times daily. Tonnes of room so no problem with social distancing even when the campsite was fully booked. Beautiful views and surrounding area with lots to do. Plenty of toilets/ showers/ washing up sinks to use even when fully booked. I will definitely be returning. So much to do in the area to please every taste
