This is the second time we have stayed at Valley View and this time was even better. The hosts have added a number of new features and upgrades to the rooms and their beautiful garden. Even though it was cold, it was amazing just sitting out in the many seated areas. This time we stayed in the amazing Coo Suite, OMG what a view! Thank you so much for all the tips on the NC 500 and your exceptional hospitality. 

I would easily stay here again!  I had a twin room, and it was very attractively decorated and absolutely clean.  I was only there for one night and had to leave early in the morning to catch the ferry to Orkney, but they accommodated me with a quick, early breakfast.  Excellent beds and bedding, and very nice bathroom.

My partner and I stayed here in September whilst completing the NC500. (A little late reviewing, sorry!) We stayed at Valleyview B&B after visiting John O'Groats and Dunnet Head.

We stayed in the deluxe double room with sea view. The view was beautiful and the stars at night were incredible, we could have laid there for hours watching them! The room was so homely and cosy, we had the best night's sleep.

The breakfast was delicious! Lots to choose from, highly recommend the cooked breakfast which definitely fueled us up for a busy day continuing the NC500!

My favourite part of the stay was most definitely getting to meet Antoinette's beautiful Highland Cows. After breakfast, we even got to meet them in person, brush their hair and feed them toast! A dream come true for me!!

Antoinette and Stephen were amazing hosts, very accommodating and friendly, we honestly didn't want to leave! Amazing value! I would highly recommend Valleyview B&B and we are very keen to return after talking to Antoinette and hearing the amazing things she has planned for Valleyview. Thank you for having us!

As a worker back in 2005 I stayed here weekdays for 2 or 3 months - it was brilliant then and better now.  Antoinette and Stephen have done wonders with the place and it has expanded since my time there when working at Dounreay. Kate and I just had a lovely, one night, stay and very much enjoyed chatting to Antoinette who is a wealth of knowledge about the Thurso and Castletown area.  We didn't manage to see any Highland Coo's but we will be back.  Wonderful hosts, great location, very comfortable beds and rooms, fantastic breakfast - just the best place to stay in the far north of Scotland.  I was also glad to see Stephen after breakfast as I hadn't seen him during our one night stay and it had been 17 years since we had chatted. Everything was just GREAT and Kate and I look forward to our next stay here.

Me and my husband visited last year and we definitely had to come back again. This time was even better. Antoinette is such a lovely host, you could sit there for hours talking to her. I stayed last Saturday as we were heading to Orkney for the next day. On the Sunday me and my husband were meant to stay in another luxury bnb. what a disaster that was, we didn't end up staying there in the end.

My husband ended up phoning the Valleyview bnb to see if there was a room available. To our relief Antoinette said our room would be ready in half an hour even though there was no guests staying on the Sunday.

If you love Highland cows then you are in for a treat, we got to feed and brush them in Antoinette's back garden. 

The breakfast is also spot on, you have different choices of either a cooked breakfast, cereal, yoghurt or toast. Hot drinks and cold drinks also served too.
We have always been made to feel welcome and would definitely recommend this bnb.

We stayed at Valleyview B and B on the 26/10/21 brilliant. This is our 3rd visit here, would I stay anywhere else? No definitely not, Antoinette and Stephen are the ideal hosts full of information and advice on things to do and see. The room was an on- suite double and was perfect, beautiful designed to a high standard and.spotlessly clean.. The breakfast in the morning was superb.. My only complaint was on this occasion I couldn't stay longer.
Will I be back? of course, try and stop me.

Had a great stay at Valley view house. Our room was lovely, nice and clean and cozy! The host was very pleasant and made us feel very welcome. We got offered fresh milk etc and complementary biscuits. Would definitely recommend to stay here if visiting.

Really cosy and exceptionally clean room in lovely surroundings. Warm welcome by the hosts and an amazing breakfast. She even provided fresh milk for our room no horrible UHT ! We stayed here the night before my son embarked on a charity cycle ride from John O’Groats to Lands End and they didn’t charge him for his breakfast which was a lovely touch. Would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful B & B. Great value for money too.

The moment we got to the lovely house I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. The scenery is spectacular and it was so close to the ferry we needed to catch the next day. 

My dad has stayed in this b&b every time he works up in Thurso/Orkney and had always recommended it.

Antoinette was so kind and lovely. She greeted us and instantly made us feel at home. The twin room we had for the night was beautiful and had an amazing view of the  countryside .. and her new sheep. The room was spotless and so cosy. 

Antoinette invited us out to the garden to see her highland cattle including baby coco. She showed us how to brush their hair and let us pet and brush them. It was truly an amazing experience. 

The breakfast the next morning was delicious , thanks Stephen. I loved every bit of it.

Stopped for a night whilst touring and loved every minute.    The room was spotless and very well equipped, with the bed and linen being some of the most comfortable and luxurious I have ever slept in - indeed better than most of the luxury visited over the years.

Add to the deal excellent service, an in-room teddy bear and pet Highland Cows in the garden and this is as good as it gets.

Beautiful B & B

I’ve never stayed in a b&m like this before.

So comfy!!

My partner and I stayed here during our trip around the north of Scotland and we were blown away! Our room was so beautifully decorated, right down to the last detail, and was incredibly cosy which made us feel immediately at home. Antoinette was very accommodating of our late arrival and kindly showed us places where we could get some takeaway food as we were staying during restaurant covid restrictions, even offering to set us up in the dining room so we could still eat comfortably! After a wonderful night, we were able to go out and meet the highland cows in the morning ... and got to feed them!!! It was a definite highlight of our trip and was the perfect end to our stay. Antoinette and Stephen were the most wonderful hosts and both made us feel super welcome - we can’t recommend this cosy B&B enough. :)
