Absolutely wonderful experience all around! Gorgeous clean room, with well stocked tea station (and fresh milk in the fridge). Comfy bed, big TV, and cute radio playing chill music when we arrived. Big bay window lets in a lot of light!  Big lush bathroom and fluffy towels. Generous breakfast included in the morning with plenty of choice and very accommodating to dietary needs and preferences. Very helpful and attentive staff with smiley faces - the hotel manager in particular was lovely. Can’t fault it, we’re VERY pleased with our stay and will be recommending to friends.

We stayed for 1 night on our way to a family wedding. The pub is very charming, with great food / drinks  and good service.

The room was very comfortable and felt more like an upmarket hotel.  We had a room with bath & shower which was a good size and had been recently renovated.

We ate lunch, dinner and breakfast at the pub. All of the dishes were very good and reasonably priced for the quality of the food.

Great food and wonderful service.  The place is oldie world vibe so inviting and the people are very friendly.  The food is one of the best Sunday roasts we have ever tried.  We were also welcomed with our new puppy who is a bit of a handful. Highly recommended. 

Kind hosts, cozy place, cute room, really enjoyed, unfortunatelly only one night during our detour to Cotswold. Very good breakfast in authemtic restaurant, and a pint of pale ale the evening before. 
The rather loud fridge in the room did not disturb us as we were exhausted after an intensive day of sightseeing. So nothing to complain really :)

Food was 10/10, service was excellent and speedy and the waitress was lovely, knowledgeable (and honest!) about which things we might like based on our individual preferences. Really lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Would definitely come again!

We haven’t been here in a while after an average Sunday lunch experience. We decided to book a table on the same day and were able to squeeze in.
Reception was very warm and the food and service very welcoming. What was remarkable was the staff generally were quite young and yet very professional in their service, engagement and delivery of the experience.
Food was excellent we shared a baked Camembert and that the sirloin steak and fish and chips followed by sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. We are in the bar area which was a little full as we caught the last 10 minutes of the six nations match but after that the experience was very good and friendly and easy to have a conversation whilst we ate.
Really enjoyed it and we will be back
Also very good value circa £70 for all food and drinks and 3 courses.

We met up with our family of four for a Saturday pub lunch, arriving at noon we had booked our table in a quiet corner.
We found the menu offered a wide choice of dishes including traditional pub classics, for example after starters we enjoyed mains ranging from duck, chicken, vegitarian and a well stacked burger. All arrived hot, were plentiful and delicious.There was no room for pud.
The meals were attractive of a very high standard and offered quality for very good value.
We found the pub team looked after us well with just the 
right balance of attention without being over bearing.
It was a very pleasant and enjoyable occasion and I am sure we shall return again soon.

We were actually in transit when we discovered The Horst & Groom Inn but we are glad that we did discover this place. It has a warm cozy feeling to the place and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious as well.

Went with family for pre xmas Sunday roast . Lovely food and generous portions .Very generous with the meat and vegetables well cooked . Service was very good. Would definitely return for Sunday roast again 

I was one of a group of four visited the Horse and Groom last Saturday. Had a great time and the pub delivered exactly the level of service and quality of food we had hoped for. As important, the staff knew what they were doing and we never felt rushed to finish and get out. Would not hesitate in returning.

Everything you want from a pub restaurant

My wife and I took my sister and husband here for his birthday last week. It was our first visit.
Nothing was too much trouble from the minute we walked in. We were going to be sat on our 'reserved' table near the passage, and asked if we could sit by the window, which was sorted instantly.
The staff were very friendly and efficient from the word go.
The menu had a great selection and we decided to get a main and dessert. We never managed a dessert because the main courses were such good portions! 
The four of us had 2 chicken burgers and fries (with all sorts bacon, cheese, etc), Veg Wellington and a beef burger. We had some extra sides and two rounds of drinks. Total £73 which was a very reasonable price.
There was plenty of space between tables and the dining area was divided up into alcoves, and local artists painting were hung on these walls.
Everywhere was spotlessly clean as were the toilets.
I would eat here again without hesitation.

Really impressed with The Horse and Groom on our first visit there. Staff are very friendly and quick to serve you. The restaurant was nicely arranged and well decorated, everything was good quality and very clean. The food was delicious, I really enjoyed my Mushroom Wellington ! As a vegetarian I would like to see more veggie options on the menu, too often meat eaters get lots of choices whereas veggies are offered two or three if we’re lucky, so more choice is always welcome! As I said my main was delicious and I’d love to see what else this clever chef could make ! Thank you for a lovely evening !

My husband and I were on a mg run and this pub was our half way stopping point 
We arrived at the pub to be greeted by a delightful  lady called Angela who very kindly found us a table to have a quick sunday lunch 
Angela was SO helpful ..so were all the staff ..and made us feel very  welcome 
I ordered  roast beef which arrived very quickly and was absolutely  delicious  
The food was hot and  such good quality ..the meat so tender ..best toast I have had for years 
My husband had chicken  salad which he also said was delicious  
We didn't  have much time as we need to complete  our car run so we sadly skipped pudding .
The pub had also laid on drinks and pastries for over 100 mg owners which was extremely  hospitable  
It is a gorgeous  pub ..full of atmosphere and beautifully done inside 
Angela made our quick visit..easy with the help of all the other charming staff
Thank you for making our day even more special 
We loved it so much we have booked to go back on saturday with our daughter

Mg  car run half way stop ..sunday lunch

We first visited on 15th June at
lunchtime for a bite to eat. We were greeted by a lovely young lady behind the bar. Asked if we could bring our dog in,which was no problem. We sat in the bar and the landlady came and spoke to us and made a real fuss of our dog. My husband chose crispy butterfly prawns with a sweet chilli dip and I had hot sliced chicken in a ciabatta with a dressed salad and skinny fries. We both throughly enjoyed our lunch and found the portion sizes generous. The young staff were very engaging and helpful,you could see that they enjoyed their job. We came back for Sunday lunch and enjoyed Roast Loin of Pork, Homemade apple sauce , carrots,broccoli, cauliflower cheese with rosemary and thyme roasted potatoes and red wine gravy. It was served piping hot and it was delicious. Again very good portion size with plenty of meat. There was a good choice of roasts including Lamb, chicken and beef. We thought it was good value at £14:00. We couldn't manage a dessert although they did sound tempting. We will definitely we be going again while we are here on holiday. Wish we had such a lovely pub,that served such good food and had such a friendly landlady and staff where we live.
