We had a weekend at Hurst Dene as we wanted to be close to Uplands and Sketty. Our apartment - first floor with a balcony, was the most expensive but good value. The living room was huge, the bedroom was fine with a (small) en-suite and the kitchen was really well equipped for proper cooking with good pans, knives, oven, microwave etc and a small table and chairs. A few matching wine glasses and mugs would be useful though. If you want to work a desk would be a welcome addition rather than two coffee tables. The building was warm and quiet although on the main road. It is not boutique or luxury but we would happily stay again in that particular apartment. We had no problem with the car park although it is small. The street market in Uplands is on the last Saturday of the month until 2.30pm and had a good variety of food and crafts. Plenty of buses go to the city centre and along Gower road. We enjoyed Gilligan's restaurant in Sketty very much.

Good value and spacious in the heart of Uplands

We stayed here for over 4 weeks in total while our son was in hospital. The owner and team could not have been more helpful and kind. The place was so convenient for all amenities, such as shops, restaurants, cafes, parks. They have a large carpark which is very handy in Swansea! Some of the time we had a room with a balcony, which was lovely. We would recommend Hurstdene to anyone.

The hotel is basic but there is everything you need. Free car park. Clean white towels, plenty of hot water, lovely view over towards The Mumbles and close to amenities. Walking distance of Swansea Bay, Singleton Park and Botanical Gardens 

Basic but good 

A man came out of a room to greet us not saying much. He gave us our keys and we went up to our room. When we got in the carpets where worn and outdated along with every other thing in there and it smelt of something odd. We decided to stay the night anyway in the small crammed in beds and tiny Tv. We checked the bathroom which was also very small and I decided to shower but found out I could not actually fit into the shower properly because it was so small. Some free body wash was on offer, it smelt horrible. Overall the room was not very clean had stains on the duvets was outdated and smelt bad along with being too small. I would recommend somewhere else but that’s up to you so choose to go here wisely.

What a great find, lovely apartments we used for a night out, was going to wind street but stayed near by as it had all was needed, food and bars with live singers, apartment was lovely and clean and spacious

Good value for money, plenty of room and all mod-cons ,  nice balcony view . Tea , coffee , milk etc if you want  to have a choice of places to eat Wind Street is like a mini London. If you need a taxi use Yellow Cabs we used three and all drivers were very good .

Good value 💯

I booked a room but got upgraded to a 4 room apartment. Wow. I had wonderful views from the huge bay window in the lounge out to sea! The kitchen was marvellous and made my weekend so easy. Warm, comfortable. I will return for sure and will not book a room but an apartment.

Swimming in Welsh Masters champ

Drove up from Devon and stayed here due to its location to Singleton Park for Escape festival. Owners very helpful as we asked to leave our luggage and they let us collect keys really early so we could go to the park for when it started. Easily found somewhere to park in the car park behind. Nice area, Uplands Diner on the road was brilliant value, and The Vivs pub up the road they were also really friendly. We booked a studio room which was modern, clean, and had everything you would want and more. We didn't use the kitchen but if we were there longer it would have been great. Comfortable bed, friendly staff, in a nice safe area and great price. Highly recommended.

Great overnight stay

If you expect five star luxury, think again but if you just need a low cost base to sleep in it’s ok.
We booked a ‘garden view’ double and a single for our daughter, the garden looked ok although it is only about 6 metres deep before you reach a drop to the road.
I think this may once have been student accommodation or a number of bedsits, ours was reasonable clean and had most of what you would expect. A bed, sofa, table and chairs, cooker, microwave, fridge and basic cooking equipment.
Two things to be aware of, all access is via steps of one sort or another no disabled access. Second is that although there is free parking, the car park was full every evening and we had to park in the college next door and I am not sure any permission exists between them and the hotel.

You get what you pay for

drove down from manchester and found my hotel  had closed down six months ago (the white house) really annoying that you can still book it, anyway googled trip advisor and found the hurst deane 450 yards up the road and what a welcome sight it was, stayed on top floor in a very very clean room thank you, and the bed was that good i am buying one. only gripe is i paid £50 with no breakfast please put local knowledge leaflets in the rooms so we can find a decent place to eat.
