Was very surprised  for the price  on my way they rang asked if i was arriving said yes welcome was good signing in good. The room was a twin clean modern new by looks bathroom. Lovely  white cotton sheets duvet  .t.v. heater  so was warm. Entertainment  on .breakfast full english good.only comment  could do with tea tray in room .will go back  highly recomend

Loved the hotel, excellent value for money, our room was clean and we had a lovely time.

Good food very nice staff bedrooms could do with a makeover and a change of mattress

The rooms met my expectations.But the environment needs a bit of improvement

The "Pub" is an ex-servicemen's club, full of upbeat, salt-of-the-earth types the military typically recruits and always churns out; so you'll never lack for someone to talk to, or a friendly word or laugh. The current landlady had only taken over the day prior, so was not yet hooked up to provide breakfast, though she assured me that it will be available on my next visit. There will be one.

Perfect budget accommodation, friendly and clean

The pub i stayed in was ok, it was about average for the price i payed per night. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was tidy when i checked in and the shower was very good. The toilet seat needs replacing as it was broken. I had breakfast on the saturday which was very nice. My main gripe was that the mattress was very uncomfertable and really needs replacing. I also woke up one of the mornings and found what i believe was a bed bug on the pillow. I got rid of it out the window and did check for others but i could not find any. I would advise that the bed and mattress and thoroughly checked before the room is used again.Generally this place is nice, the staff are friendly, the comfort of the mattress in room 19 really lets the rest of the property down.

Staff were very friendly,  extremely helpful, Food was excellent and great prices. Room was tidy, bed was very comfortable but the pillows and the duvets need going in the bin they are disgusting.  Luckly we didnt see it till leaving when i stipped the bed.. the light fitting is hanging off the wall bybthe bed, and cobwebs needs getting with a duster.  Would i return yes if the bedding is replaced or washed.  There about £10 for the duvets

When we pulled up outside, I have to confess I was a bit concerned as the hotel looked very dated, and was indeed previously a working men's social club. However, first opinions can be very deceiving!The price was exceptionally reasonable,  especially as the Commonwealth Games were in full swing nearby.The check in was in the bar. The bar is huge with a number of tv screens in various places, aswell as a huge viewing screen.There is a varied menu and the prices are really reasonable.  We had breakfast and lunch there and everything that we ate was absolutely delicious, and excellent value for money.We had a triple room, and there were literally 3 beds in there, and 3 sets of towels. No toiletries or kettle, but we could have had one if we had asked. Although the decor is dated, our room and the ensuite bathroom were spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable that i have ever experienced when staying away from home. I am glad that we took our fan as otherwise we would have been too warm. There is a large free car park at the side of the building. We walked to The Alexander stadium. Took us about 45 minutes, but i walk with a stick so probably isn't actually that long for the fit and able!. There is however a bus stop right outside the hotel if you don't fancy the walk. I asked for clean towels after our first night stay, and these were provided immediately.  Cannot fault the staff. They were SO friendly and helpful.

Excellent value for money. Basic but so clean

I was only there from late afternoon on 6th Oct till the following morning. Was unable to get breakfast there despite the fact that I was informed although being a Saturday I could obtain breakfast but that proved not to be the case.

The hotel is cheap and cheerful but needing some tlc as decoration well past its sell by date. Staff very friendly.Didnt eat there but told dont have gluten free bread breakfasts although they would get some if requested. Would recommend some stuff be kept in freezer not hard.

It was a quick one stop night for a concert in town..so not much time spent there but great bar downstairs had a few beers before and after gig
