Able to book in and check out on line. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Rooms in separate building to the pub and accessible all the time. Discounted breakfast only if you book direct with hotel, not available through booking site. Must remember to put sign on the door if you want your room cleaned and fresh towels etc. If you stay more than 1 night. Short drive to M6 toll road.

Quick overnight stay for leisure with family.  Nice late check in. Staff were lovely. Just a late sleepover but was a lovely clean hotel where I felt safe.

We needed a place to stay along a long drive, and found a room at Spread Eagle. The staff were friendly, beds were comfy and food was easily available at the carvery and restaurant. Breakfast was reasonably priced and nice. Great value.

This was a good spot to explore the area from. Only a short drive to a few spots nearby and the onsite restaurant was good. Nice carvery. The staff were excellent. Our only issues were a toilet that didn't flush properly and a shower that had a wonky temperature regulator. They called the plumber for us but we were only there for one night so it couldn't be fixed until the next day. Good value for the money.

Clean hotel room in a convenient location for us. The only downsides were the noise of the front door - not sure whose great idea it was to put a family room (206) directly above the main entrance and opposite the exit of the pub and the bed was rather hard - I compared it to the slab you would lay on for a Turkish massage but some might like that, I personally didn't.

Great little cozy pub. Hotel rooms are in a separate building this nice and quiet.Included continental breakfast was extremely basic thus almost necessitating extra purchases. The additional breakfast items ordered were great. Our advice would be either include a descent/sufficient  breakfast even if it means to charge for it rather than including it, the current solution seems to be included to just get people in the door.EV charging is available as a 50 kW quick charger abeit at a very high price. Ordinary slow chargers at a lower price would be welcomed when staying overnight anyway.

Nice pub.

Was fine for one nights stay. Arrived late with a toddler and just wanted food and sleep.The restaurant was good and staff were happy to allow to take the food to the room. Bed was clean but unfortunately more attention to detail in the bathroom was needed. Huge dead moth on the floor along with a big green toe nail. Beard hair round the sink. Did bring to the attention of the staff at check out but they really did'nt seem to care.

My son and i travel down to watch Wolves a few times a season and always wonder where to stay. Many options are past Wolverhampton and add another 30-40 mins onto the journey. We stayed at the Spread Eagle and it was great! Definitely our choice from now on. Assumed the rooms were above the pub initially, but this isn't the case, they are a brand new stand alone block just behind the pub itself. It is comfortable, is in a handy location just off the M6 and within very easy reach of Wolverhampton. Rooms are decent quality and have everything you need with good decor and quality beds. We ate at the pub as we arrived around 7:15 and it was nice food also. I had the carvery (large) which was well priced and tasty. My son had food off the childrens 'bigger appetites' menu and enjoyed it too. He has a milk allergy but the staff were brilliant in terms of checking the food for him. Drinks are relatively expensive i felt with a beer and a J20 coming to £9.05. All in all a very good stay and look forward to coming back. Hopefully Wolves will win next time too!!

Great price, location and comfort!

Better than the two well-known cheap brands. The separate hotel "lodge" is cleaned properly and it's quiet, plus the pub food is excellent, obvious by how busy the Carvery gets with locals. Plenty of parking on-site, although we were in a car work vehicles are clearly not a problem. Secure key-card entry 24/7. Good location for nearby conveniences (The Garden centre next door also contains a mini-Waitrose), Petrol station close by on the A5 in the direction of Cannock, and a Truck Stop with an excellent café (also A5 same direction, opposite side of road), and there's Penkridge market / antiques fair on a Wednesday and Saturday plus food outlets before you get to Penkridge. Staff warm and friendly, we'll definitely stay again.

Room was clean, warm and comfortable. Housekeeping avaliable and staff pleasant and friendly. Plenty of free parking available.
